Please recommend your FLORIST who does not charge by type of flower!!

Hi! We are starting to look at florists for our June '06 wedding!! I really love calla lilies and orchids for our bouquets, bouts and centerpieces, but i've heard they can be expensive. So, I would like to go see a florist who gives you a package price no matter what type of flowers you use! Any florists do that besides Jack & Rose?

Also, anyone using callas? Are they really that much more expensive than other flowers?

Never heard of such a thing. I would post this on the Vendor's board and see if you get any takers.

Try Burton's...they charge one price and it doesnt matter what type of flower.
I am using LA Blossom. I found her to be just as reasonable but she does charge different per type of flower...i think. Her work is fantastic though and I think its reasonable!

Doesn't Burtons do this? I thought I read somewhere that they charge one price and you get any flower you want. I could be wrong, tho....

I hadn't heard of it either until someone recently told me, but they didn't know which flower shop did it!

Callas are usually more expensive, but I have no ide how much. Try Flower Michele or LA Blossoms. They are both great.

Where is burtons? On 110? I work in melville and always see Burton's, but I thought it was a dress shop!!!

Burtons is on 110 but you can not enter in 110 you have to go down the street behind it. If you are going towards Huntington on 110 you can make a left onto the street. They do sell dresses as well.

Great thanks!! Does it take a long time to get a quote for flowers or can I maybe do it on my lunch hour (well... 1/2 hr!)?

I'm not sure what you mean. carnations don't cost the same as what roses cost. you can't buy a dozen roses for the price of carnations.

I mean that if you get a quote from a flower shop and it comes to $3k and you wanted ALL roses, then decide you want calla lillies a few months later, it will be the same price! Someone told me some flower shops do this, which would be great b/c the flowers I want are going to be expensive!

I made an appt with them and wasnt there long. Call and ask if they think you can be in and out in 1/2 hour. You seem to know what you want so I cant imagine them taking that long.

NATIONAL FLORAL (VENDOR ON HERE) DOES NOT CHARGE BASED ON THE TYPE OF FLOWER....I ORIGINALLY WANTED ROSES, GOT A QUOTE FOR CALLA'S AT THE SAME EXACT PRICE, AND THEN SWITCHED BACK TO ROSES.

HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE W/PEDESTALS ON CROSS BAY BLVD - FM ME FOR INFO. THEIR PRICES ARE NOT AS REASONABLE AS OTHERS, INCLUDING FLOWERS BY EMIL, NATIONAL, AND BURTON'S.

I know that Flowers by Brian charges the same price no matter what type of bouquet you want. I forget what that price is though. Give them a call and I'm sure they can help you.

but they do charge more for different kinds of flowers in the CP's
But i loved them anyway

ETA...i have never heard of a florist that will charge you the same price for any flower ....

Call Carmine at Flowers By Emil.. FH and I had the best experience meeting with him on Monday...

All the flowers at my wedding will be Roses, Callas, Orchids, Stephanotis, and a couple of other weird names that I can't remember.

Carmine showed us all different types of flowers that I never even heard of. He did mention that some where more expensive than others but when he gave me my estimate it was EXTREMELY REASONABLE!!!

He also sent me off with the most beautiful and biggest bouquet of flowers I have ever seen...
