Anyone have any simple 'Something Blue' drink ideas?
Trying to do my 'drink' menu and I need an idea for 'something blue'. The problem is that Blue Caracao (I know I spelled that incorrectly), Blue Alize, and Hypnotiq are not included in my bar. Does anyone know any other drinks or a cute twits that I can put on a drink?See below for an idea of what I mean.

hmm, well if you have your heart set on doing this menu (really great idea btw!), I would ask your hall to provide the blue curacao. I think that's the only liquor used to make blue drinks.

Re: Anyone have any simple 'Something Blue' drink ideas?
how about a clear drink made blue? for example some kind of a vodka drink with a clear mixer...i mean it would have to be with vodka or gin and it would have to be with sprite or club soda or tonic BUT you could then have them add blue food coloring to it and you can get a TON of food coloring really really cheap.

Re: Anyone have any simple 'Something Blue' drink ideas?
Yeah, my menu is not only martinis. I'm just wondering if I can put a spin on a 'clear' drink or mix something together to get that blue color. My BM said maybe I should do a blue koolaid (but that too would be extra).Maybe I have to nix this idea. I just thought it was really cool. Or, if I get little blue umbrellas for a drink, I can tell them to use it for that drink. My only other idea is maybe to buy blue berries and have those put in the glasses... (this might be extra)....

Yeah!! This might work! I wonder if they would charge me extra, probably so. I'll have to ask my BM. He's going to think I am crazy!

Hey Jen,
No, my cheap butt is trying to do a drink bar without the martini bar
I found this Martini menu on LIW or theknot and I thought it was cute. So I'm trying to do something similar without the extra dough. This is what I have so far:
Need a Drink Idea?
Something Old: Marcus’s Favorite Drink
Hennessy and Coke
Something New: Love in a Glass (need to change this to something else since the raspberry liqueur is extra)
Amaretto, Raspberry Liqueur, Vodka, and Sour Mix
Something Borrowed: Rai’s Favorite Drink
Vodka Gimlet (Vodka and Limejuice)
Something Blue... (Who wants to be blue on a day like this?)
Something Bridal: Passion Drink
Vodka, Champagne and Cranberry Juice

Re: Anyone have any simple 'Something Blue' drink ideas?
My 'Something Blue' is actually 'Something Tiffany Blue'
-- a Hypnotiq Martini. It's just Hypnotiq Liquer and vodka. Soooo tasty! ETA: I had the final meeting with my hall yesterday and while he said he usually doesn't stock Hypnotiq, they would bring it in and it wouldn't be extra.

Re: Anyone have any simple 'Something Blue' drink ideas?
I had a martini bar and wanted to do this after seeing it on theknot as wel...but really, I had zero time!
Anyway, my hall makes a drink called 'Blue Whale' and they said they would make it as my 'something blue'. Definitely ask them if there's any drink that comes in blue, then just change the name. Blue curacao is a very basic mixer, like grenadine, they shouldn't charge you extra for that.

I'm sorry, I have no idea what's in it...but when he explained it to me it seemed easy enough. I like LP's suggestion of buying the blue curacao, like I said, it's a very typical mixer like grenadine, they shouldn't charge more for that!
