If you had any 'bad' vendor experiences, how does it make you feel to see GREAT reviews about that vendor?

I had some bad experiences. And, it STILL makes me SICK to my stomach when I see that others had wonderful experiences with people who totally screwed me over during my wedding planning.

It bothers me, but not so much because I got screwed--that's over and done with and hindsight is 20/20. But I feel really bad because I know that other newbies will read that great review, when there are so many other bad ones, and could possibly fall into the same trap I did. A couple good reviews does not make a good vendor!

I actually have yet to see a great review for my nightmare vendor..I don't think anyone has given them a positive plug (except for themselves- on vendors helping brides)It bothers me when I see a bride saying that they booked them and how amazing they are when you haven't even had the wedding yet..

yup. I had to learn the hard way that a recommendation from someone who hasn't actually received a finished product, yet is really NOT a recommendation.

And, I HATE the whole 'oh, everyone has a bad review here and there, it's impossible to please everyone' logic.

there should NOT be anymore than a couple negative reviews within a 1 year period. And, the vendor should still have made some attempt to resolve the issue, not just say, 'oh, that person who complained about me is crazy.'

I'm surprised that more people don't start to realize that there's something wrong when a vendor has to refer to complaintants as 'crazy'.

This drives me NUTS! Sure everything is wonderful leading up to the day but wait til the day of the wedding to rave about the vendor!

Same here -- I think some of my vendors may have split personalities!

I actually lucked out and had a great experience with all the vendors, but what I hate is when people callously write reviews about places that say, 'the decor is bad, this was gross'--everyone has different taste. to each their own.

YES!! I get so mad when I read about how much other brides loved Jack from Jack and Rose. And about how he showed up at their house or reception site on the day of their wedding with a dozen roses. I could not have made things easier for this guy, and he was totally horrible to me. I do get really mad reading about other 'wonderful' experiences with him.

I so totally agree! What is worse is that some of these brides that had such wonderful things to say have their wedding come and go and never give a review. Makes you wonder!

that stinks! i have 2 friends who used them and it turned out disastrously. in one instance, the shop moved and jack didn't tell my friend. she showed up at the empty storefront for her appointment! Terrible!

Out of all our vendors, I can honestly say that they were all fantastic except for one. This past weekend, one of our local freebie papers did a huge article on a couple's wedding. They used that one vendor and the article raved about them and the people associated with them. What a great job they did and what a great reputation they had.

My stomach turned, I felt sick and then I got angry. I know the couple and I was thrilled for them, but at the same time, I was jealous too. I also wondered why us!

I know have to learn to let it go! But I still get so angry. I just want to kick the guy when I see him. I really hope that the vendor learned from the mistakes they made at mistakes and doesn't ruin anyone else day.

i hated my limo service! and i am glad for brides who didn't have to suffer...so i'm not upset for the bride, just that i got robbed and mistreated by the company....all i can do is share my honest experience once i do my review. it would be nice to think the vendor changes for the better and other brides get improved service because the vendor took the criticism to heart...but i doubt that will happen. but i'm not bitter other brides didn't suffer too or listen...i just hate thinking the owner is still getting rich.

i just thought i wish we could do an ebay type rating on vendors...that would help.

I haven't posted my review yet (my day was May 21st) because I see so many 'raves' about a couple of vendors that I used that totally pi$$ed me off. I had a great day in spite of and not because of a couple of my vendors.
