Secrets Capri Riviera Maya Mexico
FH and I are going to Secrets Capri Riviera Maya on the 28th of this month for a long awaited and much needed vacation. If anyone has been there, please let us know if there are things we should indulge in as well as things we should stay clear of. I have read every review from Trip Advisor so I know some reviws are good and some are not. I suppose that is with everything. I was just hoping that maybe someone had some additional insight! Thanks!

I am interested too!! That is where we are going on our HM. I just met someone this weekend that was just there and he LOVED it, so hopefully we will too! I have also read every review on Trip Advisor... try the Newlyweds thread too?

I'm going there for my honeymoon also! Yeah, I read the trip advisor reviews, but I read them for other resorts also, and it seemed as if most had some good/some bad. Getting sick seems to be a problem there, though the travel agent assured us no one gets it anymore!People who've gone to Mexico before told me no ice, only bottled water, only cooked fish and veggies, only peeled fruit, and you're fine.

I went to the Secrets in Punta Cana, and they had their own water treatment plant for the resort so we never got sick! (though we know some who did)We went back to Secrets, Punta Cana for our one year anniversary and next year we're probably going to book Secrets Capri Rivera. We love their resorts, they are just soooo luxurious and really nice.
Did you go on Debbie's Domincan Travel website? I find those reviews to be the most informative.

I assume you are referring to the Newly weds thread here on LIW. Am I correct?
Our original plan was to go to the Secrets in Punta Cana but we decided aganst it due to a report of malaria - not of epidemic proportions, but my father got malaria once and it is in your system forever. So we did not want to take our chances. There had been a crop of mosquitos brought in by last year's hurricane.

Re: Secrets Capri Riviera Maya Mexico
we went to Secrets Punta Cana for our HM (May 05) and LOVED it! we also went in April 05 to Iberostar Riveria Maya and while it was nice, it wasn't as nice the Secrets resort IMO. I don't think it had as much to do with the location but more that Secrets has wonderful resorts so you should be happy!attached a couple of pics...
