I was invited to a friend's house for a drink tonight...

Should I bring flowers or wine?

I passed by a flower shop earlier and they had beautiful arrangements and I thought one would be nice instead of bringing a bottle of wine...I mean when someone invites you over for a drink, you would expect they would have that covered, no? but actually, the flowers will probably cost more than the wine would.

What do you think?

I would prefer flowers...and you're right - if she invited you over for a drink then they probably do have 'the drinks' part covered...
flowers always put a smile on someones face...unless they're allegric...

yeah, it could sort of be as replacement wine.
But I don't think the friend expects anything, so I'm sure either will be appreciated.

I was going to say the same thing. Sometimes we don't open it..especially if we already have drinks going..

Personally, I'd rather get flowers. I love wine, but she does probably have enough for tonight. Sure, she'd drink the wine at some point, but it would be nice to have a nice flower arrangement.
