Repost from BHB: PLEASE HELP-Addressing invites question
OK, I have 2 questions....in regards to addressing the OUTER ENVELOPE.....Do you SPELL OUT 'apartment' or do you write 'apt' as in
Mr and Mrs. John Smith
1234 West Street, Apartment 2D
Or
Mr and Mrs. John Smith
1234 West Street, Apt. 2D
ALSO.....
If a couple is engaged, but not living together, should BOTH names go on the outer envelope, or is it ok for both names to just be on the inner envelope?
PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEEEE! I can't find any answers to these questions online anywhere!
Thanks!
Denise

Re: Repost from BHB: PLEASE HELP-Addressing invites question
I would definitely write apartment out. And if two people are not living together and you have an inner...write the one you are friends with on the outside and both on the inner. If you have no inner both go on the outside. That was actually on the link you sent me last week

I would believe you write out apartment. And if they are engaged it should be written as follows:
Mr. Carmine P.
Ms. Jessica L.
123 Sesame Street
Commack, NY 11784

Re: Repost from BHB: PLEASE HELP-Addressing invites question
I would write out apartment...On the outside, I like Kim's idea of writing who you're friends with on the outside and both on the inside.... I flubbed mine and put both names on the inside and outside - even with the 'and guest' part. lol
