COSTA CRUISES FORMAL NIGHTS - how formal are they and how many are there? PLEASE HELP!
This our first cruise and were leaving for our cruise tomorrow.I have packed a cute little sun dress (from Express), black pants and cute little tops for the formal nights and my DH packed dress shirts (button downs), black pants and dressy jeans.
I've been hearing a lot of different things, about how dressy these formal nights, i.e. Captains Night.
Do you think my husband needs a suit or can he get way with what he has packed?

i havnt been on that cruise line..but when i took princess couple ago for my hm... it was mixed... you will see alot of couples 'pimped' out looking nice in a tux. I just wore a suit and tie. DW wore long black cocktail type dress. others you will see barly dressed up or not even dress up.enjoy

i didnt see the second part of you question..how long is your cruises... general, 7 day cruises have 2 formal nights with 15 having 3
i would check with the cruise line and/or agent for that one

This is website like LIW but for cruises and the people there can be very helpful - there is an area for costa cruise line
Etd to add - formal nights are Formal - women in cocktail or long dresses and Men in dark suits or tuxes (more in suits though).

I went on a Costa cruise a few years back. I thought it was quite formal (suits though, not tuxes) . My dh had a suit and I had a long shimmery evening dress.Have fun! It was a great cruise line!

I have taken quite a few cruises, and any cruise that i have been on, (though I haven't been on costa) is a mixed bag on formal night, some people dressed to the nines, others dressed nicely, but not so dressy. I'd compare it to a wedding. Another thing, any cruise I've been on has had a rule against jeans in the dining rooms. You might want to check that before you go.
