First Dance Songs

I was just wondering what first dance songs you and your FI's picked?
My FI and i were never the type to sit around and say ,Oh thats our song!
All i know is that i want a very beautiful and empowering song.

thanks- we made it 'our' song our first year of dating -months into the relationship- and it has stuck...

More Than Love by Los Lonely Boys; it's pretty new so it's not overdone and it's not on the radio enough for them to kill it.

First time I heard it I was in tears and I had to stop what I was doing just to listen to the words. Later, I handed the CD to my FI and told him to listen to it. He agreed it was our song, and this is before we even got engaged!!

'As' Stevie Wonder. The band will cut it from seven minutes to about four.
Would you prefer an old standard, like something by Etta James or Ella Fitzgerald or do you both prefer a more modern song?

personally if i love the song is what matters, i didnt even think of old or new...

i know some will say the olds are classics and timeless-but the news could become that one day- so go with what you love

That was the song we danced to at our engagement party.. Our wedding song will be 'From this Moment' by Shania Twain.

We are having 2 songs, since I am not throwing the bo-k. Our 1st song is 'What would I do Without You?' by Ray Charles. I always wanted 'from this moment on' but FI told me that when he hears Ray Charles he thinks of me. After he was diagnosed, we would come home every night from work, appts, etc. and dance to it. Now I love it and think it fits us perfectly. Our 2nd song is 'True Companion' by Marc Cohen. I love this!

We just sorta decided that we will use 'Bless the Broken Road' by the Rascal Flatts. It is just so appropriate for us
