I picked the color, they picked out the individual styles. I had all ages and shapes, so I could not find one that suited everyone.

I had each girl pick out the dress they like from two lines that had the same color scheme. I wanted everyone to be happy with their purchase.

I took one of my bridesmaids with me but I selected the dress she picked out ones she liked & I tried them on b/c my MOH (sister) is about the same height & weight as me & knew the bridesmaid I picked would never try on the dresses. I then had everyone look at them & tell me what they thought. They all liked it but I gave them the option to pick something else. My dress is very simple & could be worn again if they wanted.

I took one of my moh and bm with me and let them pick out the dresses they liked, but later found one i loved online and asked them each to try it on. So even though they liked it, in the end I bascially picked it out. But I probably would not have choosen it if they all didn't like it also. I would have went with one of the first ones they picked.

I mostly picked them out... I chose the color...then took my MOH out to try on. We kept eyeballing the seperates from Impressions, but refused to pay over $200 for a dress they're only going to wear once... Then because of this wonderful site and talk about Netbride.com we ran back out to the bridal shop so both MOH & BM could try on the pieces... they just so happen to choose the one I secretly picked and priced! (Thanks Brides!)

I let the BMs try on dresses that they liked and picked from what they liked that best. I picked the color

I picked the color and about 20 dresses that I really liked...they came back with their top 3 and 3 of the 4 had the same dress picked...the 4th one had the dress as her #4 pick so that's what we went with.

I wanted them to be comfortable and I wanted them to pick something that they would wear again.

I saw one that I like and then brought my MOH's (my sisters) and they loved it. But I wanted to see others, just to make sure. So I made them try on others that I sorta like. But the 3 of us went back to the original choice (see picture below).

And when we were ready to order, I organized all of them to come to the dress shop and then I showed them the dress and color and they all liked and got messasured.

I almost got the one mentioned right above. I dont remember why we didnt get it. Anyway, I talked about what I liked and then my sister agreed and I picked out a few I liked and she found one similar and we got that, so I guess me and MOH.

It was a combo--I chose the color and fabric, each girl got to select her own individual gown, though. All of mine are from the After Six Collection.

Believe it or not my girls picked them out and I do not even know what they look like. I just picked the color and left the dress up to them (there are 3 of them). So I am going to be surprised.

i let them try on whatever they wanted and we narrowed it down to 3 dresses, i had them try them on for me and i chose which one i wanted

I'm a 'nice' bride.

I let them all choose their own dresses (just as long as they're the same color!!) everyone has their own body type, I didn't want anyone to hate wearing their dress.

I just hope they pick their dresses soon! less than 6 months to go

I had a fabric and color in mind and let them pick any dress in that fabric by any designer. They all picked the Jim Heljm 3635 dress in blush chiffon.

We all went shopping together and chose. We got them off the rack at Lord and Taylor.

My advice to you is take ONE person to go look at dresses. In the end it is what you want and not what they think they look best in . I had a big wedding party and the first time i took 4 girls with me and BOY WHAT STRESS. I had one girl tell me she would only wear a 2 piece and then another who refused to put anything on. The next visit i brought one (my sister), she tried on every dress I asked her too and then I DECIDED what they were going to wear. However, i did wait to bring them to check it out before making my final decision and they all like it (some more then others).


I was in a wedding party where the bride took the MOH and she got dresses that looked GREAT on the MOH but no one else. I didn't care, i threw the thing out after the wedding but never said anything to her!!!

I looked online and then went shopping with one BM. We found a fabulous dress and were ready to spread the news to the rest of the BP when we learned that another BM would be 7 months pg at the wedding.

So, then I went shopping with another BM to look for dresses that would go with maternity BM dresses. Then, I brought the pg BM shopping and had her try on a few.

In the end, I decided amongst ones that the pg BM was comfortable with.

I asked them to wear long black dresses. They can choose their own dress. I have zero stress about it and I know they'll all look great.
