Fall & Winter Brides

Hi Everyone,

I have two questions for Fall & Winter Brides.

1) Are any of you buying a shawl for your dress? Or, something to cover your shoulders? If so, I would love to see pictures.

2) Are any of you going to a tanning salon for your wedding? I have never been, but I don't know if I want to be pale for my wedding.

Thanks!!!!!!!

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

My dress comes with a shawl.

As for the tanning, I was actually talking to my family and FH about this over the weekend. Though I would never go to a tanning salon (melanoma runs in my family) I was thinking of doing a sunless tan. They all told me that I will not look as pale as I think I am going to look. So I think I have decided no tanning at all.

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

I bought a fake fur white jacket.
I also went tanning. I'm very fair skinned, so I did a trial run the summer before to see how often I could/should go. I wound up going once a week for 4 weeks and had a nice glow (I burned the first time and a little the second, but tanned the 3rd and 4th times). I also used the tanning cream they sell.

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

I don't have anything to cover my shoulders- I will probably just get a nice pashmina in case its cold.

I'm not sure about the tanning- I know I won't do the UV tanning beds, but I am considering the spray tans. The ones done by hand, not the booth. Maybe they can sculpt me some boobies!

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

my dress comes with a light shawl that has some beading on the ends to match the dress. i think just from being so busy and nervous i'll probably be hot even if it's cold out haha!

i tanned before the prom and in college and of course it's not good for you but i'm definitely going to tan somehow before the wedding. i might experiment with the 'spray tan' that i hear it good...or some lotions, etc. to see if that can be an option instead of the tanning beds. at least we have some time. i'll let u know if i try anything and how it goes...and i'd love to hear if any of you girls test anything:)

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

Since my wedding is 10/1, I am hoping it's still in the 60's. I don't have a shawl, but it may be a last minute add on. As far as tanning goes, I do plan on going once a week during the month of september. While I want to have some color, I don't want to be overly tan.

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

I'm probably not doing a shawl, my dress is slightly off the shoulder and 3/4 sleeves so I should be fine. My BM's are having shawls made for their dresses. Not sure if I'll go tanning.

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

1. I think I'm gonna pass on the shawl, for now that is.

2. Tanning....I hope I still have some color left from the summer. I am going to soak up all the sun I can in September.

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

I might get a pashmina- my dress has long sleeves so I'm not overly worried...

No tanning for me- it's too bad for you and I don't feel that having one is necessary in November... I think it will look odd

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

1) I've got a little fox fur to wear.

2) After a melanoma scare I'm a little anti-tanning bed. I'm in the process of testing self tanners... I'll report my findings if I stumble on any real good ones!

Re: Fall & Winter Brides

Mine came with a sheer shawl and I do plan on doing some light tanning before the wedding depending on how my summer tanning goes
