Re: NEW GTG PLACE?

I'm not going, but I have a suggestion for all the LIWers going..

What about Eisenhower park (if it's nice out) or some kind of park centrally located?? Everyone should maybe bring something or get pizza...

just a thought!!

Re: NEW GTG PLACE?

My two cents is the only thing with Eisenhower Park is if it rains - then what do we do? It would involve a zillion phone calls and last minute plans and getting in touch with people who may have already left and I can say that I would be really disappointed if we ended up not having it due to weather - we've waited so long!!!

I agree - Eisenhower park would be fun, but I don't want to risk our plans getting screwed up. Some place that takes reservations would be best. I know that Paparazzi takes reservations, but we've had two GTGs there in the past year. It would be nice to go somewhere different.

Re: NEW GTG PLACE?

Oooh I have an idea.

What happens if we take over the bar area of Tin Alley Grill (it's a restaurant right across the street from the Franklin Ave. entrance of Roosevelt Field/ across the street from the Wingate Inn)
They serve food in that area, and it'll be more social since we can walk around etc.

That's sounds good - but do you think it will be very crowded being a Sat afternoon near a shopping area? Will there be enough seats for all of us? I wonder if we called ahead of time if they would 'block' off that spot for us...

I've never been there, but my concern with being in a bar area (if they can't reserve that area for us) is that other people will be interspersed with us.

Do any of the other places on the original poll take reservations?

Hey...How about Daves Famous BBQ in Smithtown!!???

That's kind of far for people coming from NJ, but it sounds really yummy!!

I looked up a couple of the places online, and PF Changs website says it takes reservations.

Anyone know which other places take them?

Re: NEW GTG PLACE?

I don't think we'll fill that space at Tin Alley so they'll put other people in there with us, especially on a Saturday afternoon.

I bet Macaroni Grill could accomodate us too.

Jillian's might work except I don't think we'd all have a place to sit.

But remember, I did call Cheescake and they did say it wouldn't be a problem to accomodate 20 people.
