First Fitting: Do I really need to bring someone with me?
Hey ya'll,As you all know, I live OOT so my mom and none of my BM can make it to my first fitting. I thought about asking one of my friends out here to go with me (she's getting married next year), but I sort of wanted to keep my dress a secret and surprise everyone.
Is it really important to have someone there for that first fitting?

Yes, it's good to have someone looking out for you while they're looking at you in the dress. My mom came with me and she remembered to ask about a few things that I forgot about.

I would want someone with me as a better set of eyes and can see everything - not just what you can see in the mirror... and to take pics and for moral support

I would say yes. I actually ended up going to my first fitting alone because my Mom was sick and it was too late to make alternate arrangements. Everything was fine but it would have been nice to have someone there to take pictures, make sure the dress was okay, etc. Maybe bring a local friend or coworker?

I went alone and was fine. I would have liked for someone to go with me but it just wasn't possible. I think it's much more important to have someone at the 2nd or last fitting.

Me too went this morning.
Mom is deceased, no sisters and MOH lives in MA.
Oh and FMIL had to work today. she's retired and they called her in to sub.

Re: First Fitting: Do I really need to bring someone with me?
I went alone to my first fitting and no regrets. All I really did was put the dress on and she pinned it and showed me some bustles styles. I then brought a friend to my second fitting for a second opinion and so she could see how the bustle worked.Welcome New Vendors
