Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

Help! It is now less than 3 months to my wedding and I cannot seem to lose the 10 or so pounds that I would like. I have gone up almost 2 sizes in the past year and I feel so uncomfortable in my own skin. I went to a nutritionist recently but she charged an astronomical amount and was eating Mike & Ikes and Tootise Rolls in front of me during both my sessions! So I stopped seeing her - just wasn't worth the money and I obviously didn't find her helpful. So what do I do? I was thinking about joining Weight Watchers today - I'm at my wits end. I had my first bridal fitting a few weeks ago and was happy but I want to look the way I did. I think I am stressing about this more than any other aspect of my wedding. Did anyone have success with a weight loss plan that worked in a short period of time?

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

WW is great! They teach you porton control and its very easy to follow. When I was doing it I lost 4 lbs in 3 weeks. But then I had to stop due to unexpected problems within the family which needed my attention.

But I plan on starting again in May. Good luck. But keep in mind, if you lose 10 pounds in a month you are less likely to keep the weight off.

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

I've been on the Weight Watchers Flex Points program for 2 months now and have lost 12 pounds. I don't have time to do meetings, I do the whole thing online.

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

WW is a great program! HIghly recommend it. Also though, if you are not exercising, start. Even if its walking now that the weather is nice, you will be amazed how much increasing yoru activity contributes to weight loss, especially when you are on WW.

Good luck!

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

I hear you girlfriend. Weight struggle is so tough. I joined weight watchers and I am down close to 25 pounds now. I do the CORE plan which is more low carb and it works great. I love going. The leader is awesome and so motivating. Definitely check it out. I go to the one in New Hyde Park. Are you in Nassau?

Weight Watchers is a great choice. My sister-in-law lost 5.4 lbs in one week. I joined last week!

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

I am having the same issues with my weight loss as well. I started back at the gym and am trying to eat better, but I am horrible to sticking to diets. How much is weight watchers to join online?

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

I think it is so much better to go to meetings in person then join online. Plus being accountable every week and getting weighed in has helped me to stay on track.

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

Thank you everyone for all of your support . It sounds like Weight Watchers is the best way to go, and probably the best program for me. I belong to a gym but have to get more motivated about going - I know how much exercise helps. I'm thinking about joining the WW in Plainview. I think getting weighed in every week will motivate me and help to keep me on track. I like what someone said about nothing tasting as good as being thin feels! I'll have to use that as my mantra too!

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

In three months you can easily lose 10 pounds-I have and I am the least motivated person when it comes to weight loss. Get a friend involved with you and put some money on the line. That's what my friends and I just did- the final weigh-in and body fat test to determine who wins the pot is Friday. I would have never lost the weight without the sense of competition behind me making me eat right and go the gym.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! Just work out a lot- cardio, power yoga and Curves did it for me. Plus limited or no alcohol, low fat, low carb diet. Let yourself cheat and eat anything you want in reason once a week and you will not feel deprived. Let me know if you need help. I never thought I could do it. I have been trying to take off these extra 10 pounds for 3 years.

They charge you in three month intervals ... I think it was about $55 for three months.

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

You may also want to look into doing the Self Challenge. It's free and it has a lot of online resources like a food journal, fitness log, and other cool stuff.

Here's the link

Re: Ugh! Weight loss struggles!

Weight Watchers.. I pay $12 a week at the meetings.. I think if u join b4 May somehting , THere is no registration charge which will be an additional one time fee of $14.

I also joined on-line but it didn't work for me. I believe that going each week to the meetings is more effective.
