Question on where Seating

We're having a small wedding, so therefore, we only have six tables that sit about 12 people per table. FH and I have our own table and then there's only 1 table that's next to us and then the others are next to that. Who sits at this first table?? My family? Groom's family?? Do we mix the families?? We don't even have a wedding party...just MOH and 2BM!!

Thanks

Re: Question on where Seating

Usually the groom's family sits at one table to the side of the groom and the bride's family sits to the side of the bride. If the set up only allows for one table on the side I am inclined to say put the bride's family first.

Where are you putting the bridal party?

Re: Question on where Seating

There will only be 1 table next to us. Like I said it's a small wedding. The other side of us is empty with no tables. We don't really have a wedding party, just MOH and 2BM

Re: Question on where Seating

We only had BM & MOH as the bridal party and we sat them with their families. We had a sweetheart table and the first two tables were immediate family, one table mine, one table his - and fortunately BM and MOH fit into those catagories. We were going to sit with the MOH and BM and others, but it worked out better with the sweetheart table.

Re: Question on where Seating

Yep- it is the smaller table, where just the bride and groom sit.

Thanks. I guess we have a sweetheart table then. Now, who sat at the very first table- - your family or his???? We only have one table that's directly next to us. Shouldn't it be the bride's family????

Re: Question on where Seating

why don't you put your friends at that first table so you don't insult either family- My friend had her closest friends at her table to avoid the drama.

I doubt our families will go for that. I'll have to talk w/FMI about this.......Of course, I'll want mine to sit there.

Re: Question on where Seating

I'd say if you're having a small wedding and the 2 immediate families have met and get along pretty well then I'd mix them at that 1st table. Otherwise one side will get hurt. Try just your parents, his parents, your MOH, the 2BM; something like that should do it.

Re: Question on where Seating

Yes, I would mix it so at least both sets of parents are at the first table. Otherwise, feelings will get hurt and they will ALWAYS remember it.....
