Re-post Brides Review Board Swan Club
Attended a wedding at Swan Club this weekend. For those of you who are having your ceremony there, I just had to post that I thought they had the nicest area set up overlooking the water for the ceremony, beautifully decorated too. And, it was moring ceremony and they had coffee and tea out before the ceremony. Very nice touch. We had previously been to a reception there, but never saw their ceremony building. Just beautiful. Much, much nicer than other weddings we have been too where people had their ceremony in the catering hall banquet room.

We're having our ceremony & reception there! Did you attend an evening wedding there? Our ceremony starts around 7pm. Btw, how was there ceremony decorated? Did they have the arch?
Can't wait to hear my details!

I heard the cake taste great but they only make one standard cake, after talking to family and FH we are going with an outside baker

I was there sunday, dropping off my 2nd deposit in the late afternoon. I have heard mix reviews about the cake also, to be safe I think am using an outside vendor. For those using an outside vendor, does the Swan Club charge a cake cutting fee? I hate the fact that all these questions are coming up now, I was so excited about booking the place I forgot to ask!

Re: Re-post Brides Review Board Swan Club
OK, lots of questions so here goes. I'll try to answer all of them. The seated dinner is great. I've had the filet mignon there twice and it's excellent. Don't know about the other choices, but the Rosemary Chicken sounded really good.
The ceremony was decorated beautifully. I was curious as a guest, maybe you all can tell me, is that included. There were hanging green plants and tull draped on each exposed roof beam. It was lovely. This wedding was a Jewish ceremony so there was a chuppa(sp?) (sorry Catholic girl).
Went for a wedding in September on a Friday night and the cocktail hour was great. They sprung for a bunch of extras. I love the seafood presentation in the row boat. They also had a martini bar. Cocktail hour this past weekend just ok. I think it was because of Bride and Groom's choices. I just wasn't interested in any of the hot food they put out. Could've been because it was a day wedding that we weren't hungry yet. I don't know. I ate the crudite and the passed hor d'orves were fine.
Sorry girls, the cake is terrible. if you have the option bring one in. I personally don't like cake so I didn't care, but it was bad. And that was the consensus at our table. It has a rasberry filling I think, yuk, and it's dry. But, the September couple had a vienese so that is a good way to solve the problem as well because then no one notices because they've had plenty of dessert. The cake did look beautiful, just let a lot to be desired in the taste dept.
Tell me if I left anything out or you have other questions. both weddings were in the same room so I've never seen any of the other party rooms.

Also, sorry I did leave out that for some reason, the service was not as good at the afternoon reception. it may have just been our one waiter, but our water glasses never got refilled, he served from the wrong side and was always reaching over and around people. I'm sure that can be fixed by having a conversation with the BM or Matre D.Good luck. It's a beautiful place. May I ask, I'm curious, how much do they charge pp?
