Saturday night wedding... ok to wear 2 piece outfit (nice black pants, fancy top)?
Ladies... I will be attending a Saturday evening wedding in the next couple of weeks. For the life of me I can't find a dress I feel comfortable in (I gave birth 6 months ago and let's just say my tummy still looks preggo). Would you be offended if somebody wore pants/top to your Saturday night wedding? Thank.

It would depend what the invite said--if there was no preference of what to wear than I wouldn't be. I would prefer you wearing pants than someone wearing a short short dress.

So much of an outfit is how you wear it. I think an outfit with pants would look great if you dress it up with the right jewelry and hair style! If you feel more comfortable that way, you will automatically look better than if you were uncomfortable in a dress. Go for it.

I would think it will be ok as long as you dress it up right!

Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable going to a Saturday evening wedding wearing pants, but that's just me. There are some pants that are loose fitting though and can almost look like a skirt bottom, so I might be okay with that. I don't think I'd be 'offended' if someone showed up in pants to my wedding as long as it was done in an elegant way.

I reserve pants and tops/blouses for more casual parties- communions, baptisms, etc.Wedding are more skirt/dress attire. But if you dress up the pants outfit with nice accesories you coudl make it look wedding appropriate and feel comfortable.

Be comfortable in what you wear. Wear the pants and dress it up with a pretty top (beaded) or something.ETA: Congrats!!

Re: Saturday night wedding... ok to wear 2 piece outfit (nice black pants, fancy top)?
I'm sure the pants/top you plan to wear are dressy enough for the wedding. We're not talking khakis and a polo, right? :)Be comfortable. If you're self conscious about your stomach, wear what you will feel confident wearing.
I agree with someone who said that she'd prefer a pants outfit to some of the too short dresses people wear.

Go for it, wear what you feel comfortable in.. you won't have a good time if you don't feel good about what your wearing.

I wouldn't be offended at all. How can I be, I've done it a few times myself!

We had several out of towners wear shirts and skirts - it didn't bother me at all, I was just glad they were there. As long as you are comfortable wearing your outfit nothing else should matter!

Re: Saturday night wedding... ok to wear 2 piece outfit (nice black pants, fancy top)?
First of all, Congats!Second: My best friend just had this dilemma (3 and a half weeks after birth of 1st child). We went to a wedding this weekend and she wore an outfit of black pants that looked almost like a skirt and a beautiful white blouse. She glowed! And she looked more 'formal' than some of the women in dresses. It depends on the outfit itself and how you accessorize it. I say, go for it!
