guys wearing matching ties instead of tux?

is that possible? but how do all the guys wear the same suit? or do they wear similar suits?

i was thinking of having my colors as green and my fh give the boys brooks brothers green ties for the gift and have them wear it for the outfit. has anyone does something similar? also a $ save for the guys. tux renting is expensive!

Re: guys wearing matching ties instead of tux?

One of my bridal books suggested that idea as a good way to save $$, they also suggested giving the tie as a gift but they suggested doing all the same color family or else very unique ties- the book said 'you don't want them looking like the band' The book suggested that all the guys just wear a dark colored suit

Re: guys wearing matching ties instead of tux?

Fh has been in several weddings where the guys were asked to wear a black suit, and then given nice ties when they arrived - looked great for the casual summer weddings that they were. We will do something similar...no bowties for us!

Re: guys wearing matching ties instead of tux?

This has been my issue! I never wanted my guys to wear tuxes so I figured they could all wear their own suits but then the problem arose that all guys have different cut suits. Different lapels, different # of buttons etc. SO I went on a hunt for suits, figuring if I could find inexpensive ones then the guys could buy them. I figured upt to $300 and everyone agreed that that would be greaat. BUT, I could not find decent suits for that price. Agh. SO I am now deciding what to do. I think that we are going to rent simple tuxes but forgo the vest/cumberbund and have the guys wear normal dress shirts and get them matching ties.
If you have other ideas, please share!!
