Kinda URRR at FH...re: Sat vs. Fri. night VENTING

I do understand & I actually am more for a Saturday night wedding, yet it just bothers me to no end to have a Sat. night wedding is $30-35. more pp, about 9k more. We are paying for the entire wedding ourselves & I would just rather put that money towards a photographer (upgraded), limos and flowers. I also like the Friday dates better...7, 14, 21.

Yet he is not seeming to budge on this one.

I think the only way it would be Friday or Sat. afternoon would be if the halls are not available.

Just venting mainly.....but 9k for the same exact wedding 1 night later...URRRR

We opted for a Friday bc it was cheaper & we are paying for this entire wedding ourselves...Anything to save $$ & get what I wanted!

Well that is the thing. I told him I'd really want a Friday night. I said its the summer & people can take a half day & those closest to us w/b there for the church. But he is not having any part of it. He's so intent on a Saturday night. To me it just seems crazy!!!

Make the argument for cheaper wedding with something he would like more...telling him you'll have more $$ for flowers & photog doesn't sound as good to a guy and say honeymoon upgrade, better limo, or saving some for a cool tv for the home...

I am getting married on a Sunday night. anyone that really wants to come and stay out will- that's all that really matters.

For FH, we are renting an exotic sports car instead of a limo- one of the ways I convinced him for the Sunday night!

I think it is worth it to save 9k my fh would love that we opted for a friday night this way we have the rest of the weekend to get ready for our honeymoon. and spend time with oot family.

My FI was the same way, until we sat with the hall and they worked up the numbers in his presence. Somehow what I had been saying for weeks (which didn't matter to him at the time), suddenly made complete sense to him. We opted for Friday night.

It stinks right! We were quoted a $2o difference for the Sat. and Fri. night. We're paying for most of the wedding ourselves too so we chose the Friday. All of us girls chat about this all the time but maybe if you sit down with Fh and actually add everything up maybe he'll reconsider the Friday. That's a lot of $$ to spend (or save).

we opted for a sun. and the money that we saved we are using to buy bedroom furniture for our house!

We are getting married on a Sunday too...At first we were like oh my GOd we would never do that but it came down to the money issue...its so much cheaper.

We did Sunday to save money as well. Ours is memorial weekend so at least people are off of work the next day. Even without the holiday its not bad to have a wedding on a Sunday. As long as it saves me money im happy.
