Is there a certain order of which dance/event comes first on the BIG day?

Is there a certain order of which dance/event comes first on the BIG day?

For example, what is usually the order:

1st Dance w/ FH
My Dance w/ Pops
His dance w/ Mom
Bouquet Toss
Garter Take off
Garter Put on

Do the dances usually happen one right after the other, or will there be songs played for people to dance to in between???

from weddings that i've been to, the night starts off with your dance with FH . The dances with the parents don't happen until after dinner. The garter and bouquet toss usually happen around then too.

I think its all a matter of preferance. I would rather do everything in the beginning so the guests can do their own thing and enjoy themselves the rest of the time and not have to sit back down again...then again, I'm also not doing a bouquet toss, garter takeoff or cake cutting so I'm probably not the person to ask!

You have the right order, I think, but I will be mixing it up with song in between and such.

you can do
1st dance
parents dance

then after cake do garter, etc ...

or you can do your dance, then after cake do parent dances, garter all together.

I don't know about the garter and bo-k since we didn't do that, but DH and I did our dance. THen after the cake cutting, I danced with my dad, then Dh and his mom
