Has anyone been to Aventura Spa Palace in Mexico?

We're planning on taking an 'engagementmoon' there in May. We decided against an engagement party so we're looking into the all-inclusive thing in Mexico. We've done cruises, but we want a change - we love the all-inclusive idea because deciding on what or where to eat is torture for us. Any tips, ideas or suggestions?

My parents have-about a gazillion times. My mom's a travel agent and girls on here have called her and she has booked honeymoons for some of the brides on here. Her name is Laura Jean and her agency is called 'LJ's Getaways.' Her number is 631-874-3105. She will give you tons of info

I went there 2 years ago and loved it. The resort is huge and the spa treatments are amazing. We will definitely go back in the future

Re: Has anyone been to Aventura Spa Palace in Mexico?

We went in December. We loved the grounds, the rooms, the service and the spa! It was a very relaxing place. You can go to the other resorts as well. We went to Xpu Palace..that's more rustic and for families, but we hung out at the pool mostly and had a fabulous time. I would give it a 8 out of 10 only because I really thought the food was a little lacking. I heard that about this place but I went anyway thinking that everyone has their different tastes, but I was disappointed with the cuisine. Some other people went out to some of Cancun's restaurants and had a great time too.

All in all, with an upgrade in food, I would go back. Loved the spa, maybe the best I've been to. They have this hard sell on time shares though. When you first get there they try to get you to attend a seminar and the bait you with free stuff to get you to go. If you're not in the market for timeshare, just say, no thank you and don't attend the seminar.

Great value though for the price if compared to Sandals.

Re: Has anyone been to Aventura Spa Palace in Mexico?

Now you have me worried about going there because one of the main reasons we are choosing the all-inclusive is for the food!
When we went on a Royal Caribbean cruise after taking Carnival cruises (great food), we were so dissapointed because the food was so horrible. Aventura does look beautiful though, the included tours sound great, and can we talk about the jacuzzi in the room...
I read all of the trip advisor reviews, and you know what, they seem more favorable than reviews for Sandals - which I've heard aren't as great as the brochures say. Hmm... I have some thinking to do.

Re: Has anyone been to Aventura Spa Palace in Mexico?

We went to ASP for our honeymoon and LOVED it. The food question - i can't say it is a 5 star restaurant or anything, but it is good enough! One place we really liked was called Hacienda - a nicer restaurant. We also liked the buffet as well (forget the name of that restaurant). I would not miss out on this place just because of the food - they have great snack food too! They have authentic guacamole which was delicious with chips they served at the pool bars. Good hamburgers too.

The one place we did not like for dinner was the Japanese restaurant. They have a great breakfast buffet though (not Japanese food...)

I'm jealous, I want to go back!!

PS - take bug spray!!! I was eaten alive.

Good luck- feel free to FM me for more details.
Lisa
