Re: If it's not your dad, who is walking you down the aisle?
I'm just sort of faced with this recently. I know a lot can happen in two years. I know my mom won't want to do it...so I'm thinking, my brother in law, my godfather or my best (male) friend. My dad is still alive though, so i don't want to put anyone in a bad position where they feel like they're in the middle or taking his place, so it's hard

My Dad passad away when I was 17. I had my BIL walk me down the aisle to where my Mom was sitting then she walked me the next few steps and lifted my veil.

A friend of mine had her dad at the ceremony, but that aren't close, so she walked in from the door to the last row by herself & her husband was waititng at the last row & then they walked in together. I thought that was sweet.

Re: If it's not your dad, who is walking you down the aisle?
To make a long story real short, I don't get along with my dad since my parents divorced. He wants to walk me as his 'fatherly right', but he hasn't been there for me, so I want to walk by myself and he, along with my gma, is very upset.I've always pictured walking down the aisle by myself. I don't think I need someone to walk me 100' or so.

It was really sweet. They already lived together for a while & she is very independant from her family, so it really seemed to make sense for them. Also, I think the groom was a little nervous, & seemed relieved when the bride came in, so it was ncie he didn't have to wait for her to get up to the front.

Re: If it's not your dad, who is walking you down the aisle?
My dad passed away when I was 15. So I am going to ask my uncle (dad's brother) to walk me. He will be the only one from my dad's family at the wedding.

My mom is going to walk me down.My dad doesn't know this yet (i know i should tell him) but he is going to be at the wedding.
My parents divored when I was very young, so I feel my mom should be the one.

Re: If it's not your dad, who is walking you down the aisle?
My Dad is disabled and walks very slowly and cautiously. As much as he wants to walk me down the aisle it is really a hazard with my dress and cathedral length veil.I've always pictured myself walking down the aisle alone. Personally, I want to make the statement that I am not being given away, I am joining my life to my FH's on my own. JMHO.
