Cape May, NJ - you can drive there and it is so beautiful! We went there on a vacation a few years ago and it was wonderful.

I would definitely agree that you can get really good deals going to Vegas for a long weekend...

Check out TravelZoo.com... they offer plenty of package deals and other cheap trips with huge savings

Re: Where to go for 1st Anniversary?? not too expensive though

We're going back to where we spent our honeymoon. The Jalousie Hilton on St. Lucia.

It was expensive but we have our hearts set on going back. It's a Hilton so we enrolled in the Hilton Rewards Program and got Hilton Honors credit cards to earn points so we can get some free nights. We'll also go back for only a week instead of two.

We're taking two other smaller vacations this year prior to our 1st anniversary to New Orleans and to Las Vegas. We were sure to use the Hilton Honors Card, to fly airlines that convert miles to hilton points and we'll probably stay in the Hilton in Vegas but not in NOLA.

Re: Where to go for 1st Anniversary?? not too expensive though

You can great deals on Vegas if you go in the middle fo the week rather than a weekend. Trust me Vegas is just as hopping on Wednesday nigth as a Saturday. Some of the clubs are only open on the weekend, but if you're going for your first anniversary you probably won't be looking to go to those anyway.
