kissing ball pics.. Fixed them.. added some ribbon, and how to make them

Thanks for all the advice. I took out the yellow. Added some bows on the top in the same ribbon I used on most of my projects and made two more... How do they look now? BTW.. Leese.. wanna come over and help me make smaller ones for the pews?? What a good Idea!.. Oh Boy.. I need to stop with the crafts and do more important stuff!LOL


Okay here is how I made them. It was Really easy. I got some small styrofoam balls, some wide ribbon with the wire in it, some floral pins, and some silk flowers (I used hydrangeas..they covered better. But any flower will do).

Oh try to get ones with wire in the stem right under the flower. If you don't you will have to put a pin through the flower and then put the pin into the foam. Not too easy.

So I stuck an unshapened pencil through the ball. All the way through the middle. I folded the ribbon in half to create the loop. I twisted the ribbon and shoved it through the hole. I kept twisting and pushing until it went through (this is why I say, ribbon with wire, it makes it easier to go through). I pulled a little extra through for support and pinned the two ends down. Then I cut pieces of ribbon and wrapped them around the ball. Pinning them down.

Why? Because the flower lady at AC Moore told me to. SHe said then you wouldn't see the white ball.. My ribbon was sheer pink, I didn't think it made a difference. SO, because I never listen to anyone's advice, I tried it without the ribbon and you could see the ball.... Go figure.

Then I just stuck in the flowers all over the ball. I had to use the tips of the sicssor to cut holes in the ribbon wrapped around the ball so I could push the flowers into the foam.

This is the BM bokays... Then mine. Mine will have the bright pink roses instead of the red. And the Bm's will have some of the light pink ones.

I would not use the yellow. Love the pinks. The kissing ball looks great!

They just carry them. My FG will be holding one too since we cannot throw petals in the curch.

I like them both, but with your colors, I would take out the yellow.

LOL.. That would be funny. Nope. We don't want them to throw anything. They just carry them. The florist told us to make them out of silk. He won't even make them out of real becuase they don't hold up with real flowers. The girls wind up swinging them around.
My three flower girls are REALLY shy and won't make it down the aisle unless they are holding hands. SO a basket would have made that difficult. So with the ribbons on the balls they can still hold hands.

Your colors are my colors and to break up the pink we are adding purple and bright blue. Take out the yellow.

honestly, I think the purple and the yellow need to come out . . . . sorry- they came out beautiful though
