Bridesmaid vent... first one

After looking for months, I had finally found a bridesmaid dress that I and most of the girls loved. It's Jessica McClintock and is being discontinued in the color I wanted, so there was limited stock. When I first went there seemed to be enough of what we needed so I had the girls hold off on ordering them until everyone got their size... I asked them to all go by last weekend. Of course, two girls didn't... One went today and while she was there the girl from the store called to tell me they are out of two sizes that two of my girls need. I don't know what to do now They do have it in a bigger size which would probably be okay on one because it's only one size bigger, but will probably be way too big on the other... I am going to have to have her try it on in the bigger size but if it's way too big we're not going to be able to get it I'm so upset cuz it's really been a struggle finding the dress, and I asked them to go ASAP... if they had listened, it never would have been a problem...

THanks for listening!

Re: Bridesmaid vent... first one

OH I am with you on this one sister! My sister really hasn't looked for her dress. I finally went myself(since we live so far away) and looked on my own. I found the perfect dress within minutes. I don't know why this is so hard. She made it sound like there were no dark purple dresses out there! Come on! Now she has to order by this weekend or I will be stressing about her dress coming in on time.

Re: Bridesmaid vent... first one

How big is too big? If it is even 2 sizes too big she can always have it altered. Maybe one thing to think about.

I am so sorry! I hope you will be able to get it if not alter it. I hear you about BMs though. At least yours aren't fighting.

Re: Bridesmaid vent... first one

Did the Jessica McClintock people check other stores for you? I know there's another one at the Palisades Mall in Rockland County and it's not all that far away.

Re: Bridesmaid vent... first one

Ugh. They can be so annoying sometimes, can't they? I swear, you would think, the people that love you would be less difficult than that. Good luck!!! Try alterations, hope that works!

Re: Bridesmaid vent... first one

Oh I would hate for you to have to pick out another dress. And it's Jessica McCliktock (sp) she is my favorite.

Re: Bridesmaid vent... first one

I like the idea that Buckles offered - about having the dress altered. Have you looked into that possibility?

Re: Bridesmaid vent... first one

They did try calling other stores and no luck... We are going tomorrow so my friend can try on the bigger dress. It's about 2-3 sizes too big and I'm afraid if it's way too big it will be very difficult to alter it properly... BUT, the good news is that they are re-reasing the dress back into the fall line in April... my only worry is that the dye lots will be different (they said for everyone else to order them now and wait on the one that they can't get or they will lose the sale price which is about $50 cheaper!)... So, I am going tomorrow to the store to see what they can do. I will keep you updated!

Re: Bridesmaid vent... first one

The people at Jessica McClintock are so nice. They called the headquarters and were able to find out they are recutting the dress in April for the fall line, so they will just send my two friends their dresses then. If for any reason the color is off with the other six, they will take the other six back and give us the newer dye lot.... Would be simpler if they worked more like other dress companies but they are doing their best to please us!!
