Next step: Booking hotels for OOT guests (info inside) UPDATED

We decided to try to get this done next...

We have stayed at the Huntington Hilton and got the prices when we were there for the WOTY... we weren't impressed when we stayed there in December for FSIL and FBIL's wedding mostly because the bar was closed and it was supposed to be open (the bride and groom told them people were coming back and staying primarily for that reason), our room was very noisy (next to a conference room) and my glass was dirty at breakfast the next morning. Anyway, we got a quote of $119 a night, for 10 rooms. ANything over that we have to leave a deposit or something. Shuttle available for $400. No bridal suite, just an executive suite.

I had gone to the Melville Mariott a few months ago and got a quote of $109 a night. We went back to look today and the rooms were nice, but not as nice as the Inn at Planiview (soon to be Four Points Sheraton). The other problem with them was that the bar closes 'promptly at 1'... our wedding is over at 12:30 so that doesn't help! Again, no bridal suite.

What we are 99% sure we are going with is the Inn at Plainview which on May 1st will become a Four Points Sheraton. The rooms are all new, and beautiful. They all have fridges and microwaves... They have a jacuzzi bridal suite with a glass enclosed shower as well as mini-jacuzzi suites. They are opening a new restaurant and bar (which will stay open as long as they know we're coming). We were given a quote of $119 but they will match the Mariotts quote if I can show them proof. Michael was wonderful to work with. Only problem is the location because it's on the LIE service road and could be confusing for OOT guests....

So, that's the info we got... I would definetly reccommend the Sheraton, it really easy beautiful and they are still adding to it. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer!!

Re: Next step: Booking hotels for OOT guests (updated)

BUMP for more info...

We tried callin the Mariott to get a contract with their rate on it so that the Sheraton would match it and she was not very cooperative. She said she wouldn't send it if we didn't guarentee we were blocking rooms there. When I told Michael at the Sheraton that she wouldn't send it, he called and got their rate over the phone so he could offer us the Sheraton at the matched price. I think it's awesome, considering he could have told us 'sorry, tough!!'... they are really very accomodating there... We are going to see the bridal suite this weekend so I will take pix if I can and let you know. We are definetly going with them for our OOT guests!

Did you ever take pics of the Bridal Suite?

Did you ask about a shuttle by any chance?

TIA

I didn't take any pics but the room was beautiful!! When you first walk in the bathroom was on the right with a glass enclosed shower... Then theres the bedroom, king size bed with a huge plasma screen tv on the wall... to the left is a little sitting area with a couch and TV... and around to the right is a seperate area with the jacuzzi!! If you call and they have the room available they are great about showing it to you... They are terrific over there!!!

As for a shutle, they don't have one as of yet but can recommend a company... I think we are just using our limo company, they charge $75 an hour for a minimum of two hours... I just have to check if we can split the two hours up or if they have to be together... Even if we have to pay for four hours, its cheaper than the Hilton was for their shuttle

Great thanks. We are researching hotels now, so I will add this to the list.
