Re: ? Rocky Point School District...

A good friend of mine graduated in '97, and said she loved the district though she didn't think it was too good academically. She went to Suffolk, then graduated from a 4-year school, and I believe the majority of her classmates her year went on to Suffolk. That said, her sister graduated last year and she said the school has really gone downhill. With the affordable housing in the area, there has been an increase in gangs and school violence.

That's what she said. It's so hard to know what districts will be like in 5 or 10 years though.

Sound beach is fine to start with it depends how far into sound beach u r going if u are right off of echo ave or north country it is great and if u go into the heart of sound beach the house are like little beach house cottages that is what they used to be like back in the day!!

Re: ? Rocky Point School District...

I just asked her again about it and she said the drug problem got much worse--the high school got a new principal or something.

Re: ? Rocky Point School District...

I've done a number of appraisals in the area, and houses in the Miller Place school disctrict definitely carry a premium over the Rocky Pt SD, so that gives you some indication of the RP SD...

that said, there are still good values to be found in SB, and there has been significant growth.
