Please recommend the BEST veterinarian!

Hi,
My baby, Mr. Blue suffers from tummy issues (as do most Himalayans) and he also needs a great general doctor for shots, check-ups, etc. Please recommend yours or any that you know of that are great. I am willing to go to Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau Co., Manhattan and Suffolk Co. in that order. Will do Staten Island if I have to.

A great vet with a loving personality is preferred. Thanks!

I love Dr. Hernandez from the South Bellmore Hospital and she also works from North Shore Hospital on Northern Blvd. in Bayside.

My DH used to work in Brooklyn with Dr. John Hunsiker (sp?)...John still owns the practice, I'll have to get the actual name of it for you.

Animal Kind in park slope brooklyn is considered one of the best in the city. They will give your animal the truest of care, and will focus on the whole animal and prevention as well as treatment.

Many of the people I know also recommend Hope Vet in Brooklyn, but Animal Kind gets a lot more publicity for the quality of their care.

They are awesome. We bring all of our animals (pets and strays) there, and they are a caring group of people.

They were really great to us when our kitty Hocus (in my avatar) was diagnosed with cancer last year. They were honest with us about his chances and were compassionate when we had to put him to sleep.

I haven't met Dr. Hernandez at all, but I use Dr. Michael Ferber at North Shore Hosp. in Bayside and I am extremely happy with him. He is very thorough and truly takes the time to talk and listen to you. I can't imagine any of the doctors at North Shore Hosp. not being good.
