Anyone else getting married Labor day weekend??

WE are but we're having the wedding on Friday. We plan to send save the date cards in March or April. Do any of you think the holiday will affect my wedding day badly or are any of you worried about the same thing?

Hi :) I'm getting married on the Sunday night of Labor Day weekend. I feel as though the people that want to come to your wedding will be there, regardless of what day of the week and where. However, when dealing with a holiday weekend, the more advanced notice you can give people, the better, so that they don't go ahead and make other travel plans.

For that reason, as well as the fact that we have several people traveling to NY for, we sent our save the dates out during the first week of Jan.

I'm getting married Labor Day Sunday in 2006. We have more than half our invites coming from New England and north, so we'll send our Save the Dates right after labor day 2005. We've spread the word to most of our family already and we are going to start our wedding website this spring. We are really worried about hotels getting booked up and most places will only let you block 10 rooms at a time. Because we need at least 70 rooms, we are sending them out really early.

Other than that there is not much we can do. If people really want to come, they will find a way!

We are the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. I agree that the people who are going to come will be there regardless of the holiday. We are in the middle of making our save the dates and hopefully will get them out this week.

We're getting married the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and it's true people will come regardless of the holiday. Most people I've mentioned the date to think it's great because it doesn't kill their weekend (w/the extra day off & all) and they've done their vacations w/kids by then. I'm in the process of addressing our Save the Dates now to go out...well whenever they get finished

we're getting married the sunday of labor day weekend. we have a lot of out of towners, and they're actually excited to come to NY for the holiday... many have never been there...

we sent out our save the dates with our christmas cards to save on postage :)

Hi, I'm the sunday of labor day weekend, and i have to say that we specifially chose it to make it easier on OOT guest (more than 1/2 of our guests will need to fly in). I'm more worried about a hurricane that weekend. The Farmer's Almanac is freaking me out!!
