buyint the seller's furniture (estate sale)

The seller wants to know if we want to buy anything in the house (including china, knick-knacks etc...) the seller is also a real estate attorney (it's his mom's house)

I don't have any idea what to offer!

There is a dining room table and chairs in good condition, a nice china cabinet, 6 additional random old (turquoise seat) dining room chairs, 2 old sofas, 4 older chairs (like for a living room), a few lamps, a few end tables and TONS of 'stuff'

Should I make a blanket offer? Should I offer on only the things I want?

What sounds like a good price? The thing is, I think whatever we don't buy they'll just throw out anyway!

why not just ask him what he thinks is a fair price? i would buy the whole lot. if there are items that you are not interested in you could always donate them.

I think you're right - he told me to make an offer but I'm not sure what to offer.

Should I just ask him to make a fair suggestion (on a price for everything) and then counter offer?

Man - houses are so expensive, I feel like telling him to just throw it in - I mean it's only going to go in the garbage anyway!

there is always eBay if you want to do that! we sold some old crystal glasses the previous owner had in our attic...the seller (daughter) said to throw them away. we got $25 per glass!
