Ryan discussed the idea with my parents, basically said hey its gonna happenn, but didnt exactly 'ask' them.....

It wasnt a big deal though, my dad and I arent close, and he's not the person you really 'talk' to, and my mom would've told me haha

Jason went to my dad 2 weeks before he asked me & asked for my father's blessing...Then he asked my mom separately too...I really didn't think he would ask them, so after we were engaged & they told me he did, I was just so happy & glad he did

I don't think he asked, it was more like he told them it was going to be happening. I think it was the hardest secret my mom has ever had to keep

Yes he asked my father (invited him out to dinner to ask), but took my Mother along to their dinner date for moral support.

Sorry I screwed up the poll thing...2x!!

Well my FI asked my mom about 2 weeks prior to asking me. I thought it was very classy and he scored points with my family!

My Mom and my brother almost slipped a few times!!

He told my Dad as my parents were leaving for a 2 week vacation. When they got back it was my birthday and my Dad was acting wierd. I kept telling everyone my dad is having a hard time with me turning 25. Little did I know!

We had already discussed it - and I was blown away to learn that he did actually take my dad out to dinner to formally ask him (which is quite ironic because my father was actually separating from his third wife at the time...long story!). He only asked him out of respect...but I think it kind of got my mom a bit disturbed that he didn't ask her too (she lived with us at the time - I think he just took her approval for granted). Hindsight - who cares? But I think it's really cute that he met with my dad
