Had My First Personal Trainer Appt (VENT)
I wasn't impressed
I was already doing so much of what he said so I guess that's good on me. He just had me doing three sets of 20 instead of 15 and added in more weights over machines but the process was the same. But the thing that really got me is this:
When I met him he asked me about my goals. I said I still have about 3 1/2 lbs to lose but that's not as important to me as really toning my arms (I am aiming for Jennifer Aniston-esque arms for the wedding), my back and my stomach because my wedding is 2 1/2 mos away and my first fitting is in 4 weeks. So he tells me his sister is getting married at the end of May and she's trying to do the same thing 'but I don't understand, you both look fine to me.'
Ok, first of all, fine is not AMAZING. Second of all, I absolutely have many things I can work on and this guy's a personal trainer - aren't they supposed to be as nitpicky as I am?!?! I wanted someone to really push and yell at me.
Maybe I should have asked for a woman trainer

when you get your Jennifer Aniston arms, can i have your old ones?
Maybe you can push yourself harder than anyone else can because you know your strengths and weaknesses....
Good Luck!!

That's a good point. I suppose as long as I'm motivated enough, it'll be fine.

maybe he was just trying to be supportive. it's better than saying 'yeah you're right, you need a lot of work'. maybe you should tell him that you get more motivated if someone pushes you.

Jennifer Aniston arms were my goal as well! When I didn't get them within 2 weeks of starting my new free weights routine, I gave up.
I hope your trainer doesn't let you give up!!
