New Girl on the Block
Hi All,I just got engaged, and finding this site is GREAT!!!! There is so much useful information. You all seem so helpful and friendly. I hope that you don't mind helping me. Anyway, I would like to get married in May 06. Do you think it is possible to plan? I am getting a little nervous because some people are planning on getting married later in the year and they already picked there catering facility. I just feel stressed already. I must say I do stress easily. There is just soooo much to do. I have a list of different places I want to check out. Do you think I should make appointments or just swing by the place and take a look? Please, if any of you can give me some advice or helpful hints I would greatly appreciate it. Thanking you all in advance.

Re: New Girl on the Block
Welcome and Congrats!!! LIW is an invaluable tool.Yes, you can absolutely plan for May 06 - that is a year and a half away!!! Plenty of time.
Make appointments with catering halls - you will get more personalized attention.
It will also allow you to narro your search if for some reason you call and your date is booked.
Don't stress - it's alot of fun, and you don't want to look back at this very unique time in your life and think 'I was such a basket case, I wish I enjoyed it more!' Yes, there is alot to do, but with the help of this site, one or two good friends or family members and an awesome FH (which I am sure you have) you will be just fine!

Hello welcome and congrats. You have more than enough time to plan. Dont worry. As for the halls they prefer you make appts but it never hurts to drop by if u are in the area. We did that a few times and were always helped. happy planning.

Re: New Girl on the Block
Congrats and welcome to the boards.
Don't be stressed, you'll have time. Take a deep breathe. I booked my hall after visiting 10 about the same time you are. Stay organized from the beginning, it will help. Good Luck. I just edited because I read that you want to check out the Meadow Club. I am getting married there. They are great. If you want specifics FM.
