Really sad. My sister is leaving to go to Medical School on Tuesday.

Hi everyone. I knew this day would come and it's finally here. My sister is going to leave to go to Medical School on Tuesday. She's coming back in the end of April for two weeks, but leaving again right after. She's going to be there for a 1- 1 1/2 or 2years. I'm really going to miss her a lot. Ahhh, I hate crying.

Last night, her boyfriend and I threw her a surprise farewell. When she came in through the doors I ran up to her and we were hugging and crying. I couldn't stop crying. I was an emotional basket case. My sister is such an awesome person. Although we are different in many ways, we are still always there for one another. Can anyone help me stop crying????

Thanks Tracy. It's going to be so hard not having her around the house. I feel like a part of me is missing.

its an mazing acomplishment to get into medical school you should be very proud of your sister good for her. you will see her on breaks and it gives a reason to write a letter to her send her a care package or call her just to say you miss her

edited to say you can also surprise her for visits if she isnt too far

where is your sister going to school ? is it far? can you go out and visit her at her school.
i know its hard to be away from the one's you love. if she has a computer at her school where she is staying youso both of you can keep in touch that way too. lots of hugs to you.

She going to Ross University in Dominica. It's in the Carribean Islands. It's a five hour flight. She's bringing her lab-top with her and she will be getting internet service down there. I'm really proud and happy for her, but it just hurts to see her go. It's times like these that you realize how much people mean to you.

When my sister left for medical school I was a basket case, it made us stronger as sisters. It is hard. I now get free eye exams, very discounted contact lenses, etc. It wil make your visits with her even more close. I know it is hard, but it will get better. FM mail me if u need to talk. hereare some hugs

PS She moved back to LI and she calls me all day, sometimes I wish she was away in school. LOL but there is nothing like a sister.

My sister was a wreck when my reception ended..it hit her that I was really moving out. I cried all the way to the hotel.
I'm only 30 mins. away, but still it hurt her.
April will be here before you know it!

JUST KNOW THAT SHE WILL ALWAYS BE A PHONE CALL, EMAIL, LETTER OR SMALL TRIP AWAY. I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS. I AM CURRENTLY LIVING IN FLORIDA RIGHT NOW AND SHE IS STILL LIVING IN LI. I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH OF A BASKET CASE I WAS WHEN I LEFT TO MOVE. ME AND MY SISTER WERE ALWAYS THERE FOR EACH OTHER BUT OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS WE GOT VERY CLOSE. SO LEAVING THEN WAS EVEN HARDER. TRUST ME YOU WILL GET THROUGH IT AND IT WILL GET A LITTLE BIT EASIER.

I think it's so wonderful that you're so incredibly close to your sister. I know this is tough for you, but just think about successful and happy she'll be and maybe that will help you get through this. I'm sure, since you're so close, that she will keep in touch.
