12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
It's actually 11 months and 2 weeks - i think this is a PERFECT amount of time to be engaged and comfortably plan a wedding... but i have a friend that thinks it's rushing. Any thoughts??

Re: 12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
IMO its not, but then again I guess no matter how long you have to plan you wedding in those last finally days you will always fell rushed and overwhelemed. It really depends how big of a wedding you want and all of that.

Re: 12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
It's definitely enough time. My friends just got engaged and is planning a wedding for Labor Day weekend, less than a yar away. And she's doing it from Kentucky!

Re: 12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
If I had the money, I could plan a wedding in a month. The internet makes it so easy for you to find everything you need. One year is a perfect amount of time. I have one year and seven months and it is too long, but I need to save to buy some things for the wedding.

Re: 12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
I did mine in less than 12 months (about 11) and had no problems at all.I didn't feel rushed and also didn't feel like it was taking forever to get married.

Re: 12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
absolutely.....I got engaged 10/30 and my wedding is 8/13/05....plenty of time....just be careful with your wedding gown...you'll want to order ASAP. Mine will take 6-9 months to come in (obviously cutting it a little close)

Re: 12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
I got engaged september 25th and my wedding is for september 24th 2005...its plenty of time, i have everything done (except those i cant do till later, invites..etc). I know a friend who planned it in 6 months..and my one sister planned a full wedding in 4 months! If you wait a long time, most of the time is spent waiting...so i dont think its rushing at all!

Re: 12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
you'll be fine. I was engaged for a year before we really started planning - i don't think i would have wanted to really start any sooner. You should have more options for a fall wedding... i don't think vendors books as fast from Nov - April as they do from like May - October :)

Re: 12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
You girls are all awesome - so helpful - I'm so excited to start planning! We're going to check out sites this coming weekend, and I've already found a couple of places I really like that have the date I want available!
Once the site is booked, I think I can be a lot more laid back about the rest of it - Thanks so much for all of your opinions!

Re: 12 months long enough to plan a wedding?
I did it in 7 months. Once you find the location, start looking for a dress immediately. The rest is not as urgent.
