Hey Moms! What books do you recommend for new mothers?

Hello all!

I think I'm all done reading about pregnancy! I'd like to get a few books for after I give birth. What books have you found especially useful as references in caring for a newborn? I definitely want something that talks about symptoms and explains when to worry/when something is normal. More general guidance about how to keep the baby happy is welcome as well.

What to Expect the First Year is a great resource book.

What to Expect the First Year is a great resource book.

I highly reccomend this one as well!
Also the girlfiends guide to pregnancy was a great one.

eta. I dont know if this counts but I also go chicken soup for the expectant mothers soul.

nothing is dead set on what you should or should not do BUT, that being said the above mentioned are great resources

The girlfriends guide to the first year of motherhood is a nice light hearted book that gives you some info.

My friend has a pretty difficult newborn but swears by 'The Happiest baby on the Block'. Alot of the techniques in there have helped sooth her cyring baby!
