Anyone TTC and just got married???? SS long, had to vent.

Most people look at me like I am nuts. Yes I have been married for only a month and yes my husband and I are TTC. I was told all of my life that I would never be able to have children, a year ago I went to the OBGYN and she said that my body has some how built my hormone levels back up to a normal count. She asked me when we were thinking of having children? My husband and I are such children people and both of us have always wanted a family of our own. We have been together dating for 5 1/2 years now and living together for 3yrs. We have been through hell and back again with family problems and hardships and now want a light at the end of the tunnel. So many people look at us like we are nuts. My MIL thinks we should wait two years and the start trying. My problem is my doctor said that the longer we wait the more problems can arise. I am healthy now, have money, health insurance and a good job. I don't see why my MIL is so against it. If i wait i could loose my only chance of having a family of my own. I am ready for a family and so is my husband. Are we nuts or is my MIL trying to rain on my parade for the second time???????

It really is no one elses business when you start TTC. You have to do what is right for both you and DH. We started trying when we were married less than a year and we didnt tell anyone in our families because we knew we would get the response that you are getting. Everyone always has something to say.
For us, we lived together first so I felt like we were in that honeymoon stage for 2 years!!!
anyway this is your family and you have the right to begin it when ever you want!

If your Dr says it ok to TTC, GO FOR IT!!!! Who cares what your MIL says It's not her decision. I hope she doesn't feel that way when the baby is born.

You should never listen to anybody but yourself and your DH!!!! So what you've only been married a month, you've been together for 5 years!!!!!
Tell your MIL to stop raining on your parade!!

BTW - What wonderful news that the Dr said you can start trying! I wouldn't wait - if you and DH are ready then get to it!!!

I would be trying like heck to get pregnant given your current situation it is your life and your decision and no one should tell you otherwise, but they do unfortunately. I wouldnt even tell anyone that you are trying to avoidy nosy peoples comments.

My MIL has no idea we are trying just everytime the word baby is mentioned she looks at us and says 'please don't tell me you are trying.' Only me close friends and my mother know that we are trying and that is it. I have only told my BP minus my SIL because i know i can trust my girls. My SIL might slip and tell her mom so i wasn't going there, and i told all of you because you all are the only other people that i can ask and you all will give an honest answer because you don't really know me. I am just so angry at my MIL because she was a pain when i was planning my wedding and now she is so negative about something so dear to me and DH. I feel like she is constantly going to be negative about everything yet she is always positive when it comes to my SIL. GOd i feel like i am loosing my mind. Thanks for all of your support, i just hope some how this will all pass, because DH and i said if she is this way when the baby comes she will not be able to see him/her if she is going to be a deadbeat grandma. I just wish it wasn't like this. She is a nice lady (even though i thought about selling her on eBay in the past) but she is so against anything positive for me or her son. I hate favoritism when it comes to children.

We starting TTC as soon as the reception was over. Everyone has their reasons why they want to wait or why they want to TTC. All that matters is what you and DH want - your MIL does not even figure in to the equation.

Do what will make you and DH happy. It worked for us - we're already PG!

I agree 110%..... I was going to make that suggestion, (to offer to sell her again...) but if you remember correctly the LIW ladies all retracted their bids!! Cheer up sunshine, and make Alex a playmate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And to your MIL... Tell her to stuff it!!! (Or I canif you're too upset!! )

I have health issues myself and I say do it while you are healthy. This is between you and your husband, this is your decision to make not there's.

Any reason... Oh please let me at her.. we are talking about a cousin for my son... grr...

The only reason she is being a biotch... (and this is all seriousness now) is because Jay's dad wasn't much of a father (or hubby)and she had no inner circle of friends or family for support...

You need to take you MIL pills now and forget about her.. the same thing I told you throughout your wedding planning... You and Jay are married now and are your OWN FAMILY.. Health wise, it's time you make your Family 'official'.....

I agree with the other girls 100%. You have to do what feels right for you and DH. If you are ready go for it, it shouldn't matter what anyone else says. I am sure once you tell MIL she is going to be a g-ma she will be changing her tune.

I agree with everybody here. If you and DH think that is the best time... so it is, and it is just your decision. Many for you and I wish everything goes according to your plans.

All I'm saying is do whats best for you. Never miss out on what you can do now. Family always will have something to say whether its negative or positive. But if and when the baby does arrive, I'm sure they will be the first ones to brag about their new grand baby. GO FOR YOURS GIRL!!!

I'm getting married in March and we will start trying in FEBRUARY so no you are not crazy. Who cares what people think or say? Its your FAMILY now and you need to do whats best for you.
