HELP!!! how should we announce our engagement after 4 months tonight????

OOOO MYYY GODDDDDD!!!!!!!
its finally here... we waited for our 4 month anniversary to tell his parents and my mom were engaged!!!!!!!!!!

we arent nervous about the approval cause we are confident, his parents and my mom already know were very serious but...

my mom knows everything, my fh doesnt know she knows, but my mom will make him telling her alot easier.... and yes she approves and is so happy!!! my last bf was 40 and i went out with him for much much longer and she never met him and would never have had approved (not cause of age)

now my fpil..... ok listen THEY LOVE ME! I LOVE THEM!!!!! but they are savers and so is my fh, and he doesnt have a good job yet and the right was super expensive, and god only knows, and he wants me there....


should we:
just walk into his house and say were engaged and announce it like that, or should we tell his parents, that we got the ring and were going to get engaged, and were just looking for their blessing???????
did any of you girls go with the guy to talk to the parents??? im really only going cause i cant make him go through this alone!!!!!

girlss helllppp, i gotta sit through work all day, then church tonight b4 we tell them... i think im going to die!!!

Say it when you feel the moment is right - we told my parents on Christmas Eve, and waited until dessert - I didn't want the whole dinner to be about us. You will know when you walk in when the time is right!

I would just say it with confidence. Be happy, not nervous. My FH asked my father's permission, so they knew he was going to propose and his mom knew as well and he did it in front of her!

His 19 year old brother just announced his 'engagement' at their family reunion in front of the family (after knowing this girl for 5 months at 19 years old...) and I felt so bad that he announced it that way and not privately. Her reaction showed the same.

Fh didn't propose,we just decided to get married & got a ring together.

So the day after it was ready, I called my parents & as soon my mom said, hey, what's new' I told her. Fh was impressedwithmy cutting to the chase.

So then the next day we went to FH's house & for no reason & and they asked why we stopped by so we just blurted it out.

I didn't see the need to tell anyone in advance.

I would think that he should speak to his parents alone first. This may be a shock to them, after only 4 months.

It would be nice that he approached you parents alone also, and let him know his intentions.

Then, after you have been proposed to, I would tell the family.

I guess I am a bit old fashion though...

If you are looking for a blessing tonight, and you are just going to tell you FIL's your intentions, then go. And bring a nice dessert!

ill be 24 and he will be 26...

it went ok....

my mom was happy but pissed i was engaged b4 we told her... she said we robber her of that experiance of him asking her 1st.. whatever

but his parents are sooooo happpyyyy
so all in all it went better then i thought it would...

CONGRATS!!! I know you were worried all day!!! Are you an only child? I found my mom was happy and sad at the same time when I got engaged. Very bitter sweet. SHe's probably so happy for you, but it probably hurts knowing you're going to be leaving the nest. Don't worry - give her a few days. She will love planning!!!!

And I am soooo happy your FIL's were estactic!
