Any good ideas for table names?
We were thinking of maybe doing places we've been to together. That way we can do a little writeup for each table and try to name them according to places we've been to w/ the people who are sitting at each table. What are the rest of you doing for table names?

we went cross country together when we first met so we were thinking of doing the places we've been together also..we were going to put a picture of either the place or us at the place..we're still thinking about it though.

Re: Any good ideas for table names?
I've seen tables named after wines, where the reception was at a vineyard.
Where the bride and groom gave CD's as favors the tables were named after favorite musical artists.
Someone recently suggested to me to name the tables after favorite flowers.
But I totally love the idea you have going right now

another good one is naming tables after things it takes to make a relationship work, ie: Love, Trust, Respect, Friendship, Compassion, Teamwork, Understanding, etc...

OMG! That's what I decided to use yesterday. We are putting the table name in large letters, then underneath, we are putting the definition.

Re: Any good ideas for table names?
We are taking a picture in front of all the places that are important to us then Gary is going to put the table name on them and a little story about why it is important to us...I mean someone is going to wonder why there is a picture of us standing in front of Friendly's LOL

Re: Any good ideas for table names?
Yeah I love when there is a picture on the table. I've been trying to take a lot of group pictures on trips so that we can include pics of our friends on the tables they are sitting at. For tables of my parents friends we will just put a pic of the two of us at whatever place the table is named after. I think its also nice to do a little write up. We went to a wedding that they did places they've been as the theme and each table had a write up. We were at the random table of ppl who dont know eachother but the one couple that the table related to was able to tell us all about there trip - it was a great icebreaker for the table.

Re: Any good ideas for table names?
We're having an autumn wedding and everything is Maple and Oak leaves so each table is named for either an oak or maple tree. There are these little dye-cut leaves on the placecards too in corresponding colors as the table marker signs!
Silver Maple -Green Japanese Maple -Purple Bur Oak - Brown Northern Red Oak- Red etc....

Re: Any good ideas for table names?
Yes, places you have visited are good or
1. Favorite movies
2. Favorite flowers or trees
3. Songs with love in the title or romantic songs (Natalie Cole did this for her wedding)
We are a bit different. We went to college together (Ithaca), lived in the same dorm (me on 8th floor, he on tenth), same major, many friends in common, even interviewed for the exact same job in 1990 and attended several concerts together sitting as close as three rows apart but never met until 14 years later! So we are naming our tables after places we should have met
East Tower, WICB, The Downtown, etc.

Re: Any good ideas for table names?
We're getting married on Halloween. So (and I "stole" this idea from HalloweenBride) we are naming the tables after scary movies. But I am only using ones from the 1940's - 1950's (before the advent of Texas Chainsaw and Jason!). Some of those movie posters are works of art in themselves.
Each table will have a 5x7 movie poster on it in frames I got at the dollar store. The place cards will have a smaller thumbnail of the poster next to the guest name. Hopefully everyone will be able to find their tables.
