Ideas for songs for the first dance...

We are starting to think of what song to use and are kind of stuck. Any ideas?

we went with something sweet but not too sappy - it's a song by billy joel called 'you're my home'. it's been 'our song' for a long time. it's not really a typical slow dance, but the words are fantastic and meaningful for us.

i think picking a first song is a very individual choice. some people want a classic love song, others want a song that has sentimental value, and others want a recent, new song to celebrate beginning a new life together. so it really depends what kind of feel you are looking for...

Well I definitely don't want a new song and I don't want a classic song that a lot of people have done before. Just want a nice song with nice words. I wouldn't even mind if it wasn't the traditional slow type of song. Any good country love songs? I love songs where its both a guy and girl singing for different parts. Is anything about planning a wedding easy?

So some duets that are nice...Faith Hill and Tim McGraw..It's your Love. Let's Make Love. Older songs: If You Say My Eyes are Beautiful-Whitney Houston and Germain Jackson. Finally Found Someone-Barbra Streisand and Bryan Adams I think..These are some of my favs.

thanks for your help! I never heard the faith hill/tim mcgraw song but the lyrics are pretty. I'll have to check that one out.

our song was called 'Have a Little Faith in Me' and is written and performed by John Hiatt, but has been covered be a few artists. The words really mean alot to us.

We were also considering 'Keeper of the Stars' by Tracy Byrd (a country song)

another country song would be 'Me & You' by Kenny Chesney
