Can I dye a bridesmaid dress black?

Hi,

I was in a wedding last week we wore light pink strapless gowns. I think that it would be a great dress in black. Can I have it dyed? It cost $250, so I would like to try and use it again!!!

Does anyone know what this would cost?

would you be able to wear it again in pink?
otherwise i would say (well first find out how much it is) and go for it...i mean if you arent going to wear it ANYWAY it doesnt hurt to try!

in college i had a friend who spilled fruit punch on her white dress and she dyed it black herself with die from michaels or one of those places...but it was cotton which tends to hold the dye better
