here's a creative idea....

my friend found a bunch of old photos of her mom when she first got married, her pregnant, mother daughter together through all stages of life, with family, etc...and put them on DVD chronologically to her favorite song....brought the room to tears. Something she will always look at.

She showed my mom and she 'wished' she had something like that...

Not sure if you're dancing with your mom or not but what we're doing for our moms (I'm dancing with mine) is giving them each a double picture frame at the rehearsal dinner. On one side of the frame will be the words to the song we're going to dance with them (typed up all pretty) with a note saying that when the pictures come back, the other side will be a picture of us dancing with them to that song. Definitely meaningful, not sure if it's what you're looking for.

The problem with that is my mom is divorced and we all hate my father

So her proms, wedding, all those pics she doesn't want to see. I was making her an album of pictures of her and her kids through the years to give her on her birthday (I will be on the honeymoon for her birthday).

I'm not dancing with her. It is definatley meaningful but I need something other than pictures.
I am giving her one of our e-pics framed also BTW.
