If it were me the marraige could not continue. He not only broke their marraige vows but put her and their kid's life in danger.

Seriously (and I'm not making a joke about it) my husband thought it was a joke at first, mainly because it seemed so bizarre to hear this man resigning b/c he was 'coming out' ..

I guess there is far more to this story than we know about yet, but really you have to feel for the wife/kids in the situation no matter what else you think about it

Such a difficult situation. He obviously has been hididng this for a long time - not only from everyone, but I think from himself as well. He must be in such torment.....
Granted, he should not have gotten married....but still, I feel for gay people who have to hide because of the reactions of people in this world....I can't imagine what that must feel like.

I still dont' understand why he can't be a Gay Govenor!!!

Extramarrital affairs of any type haven't completely ruined other peoples political careers (see Clinton..) so why is this the REASON to resign?

Apparently a lawsuit is going to be filed in Nj today by a male Homeland Security cabinet member accusing him of unwated or inappropriate sexual conduct ...

He stated he felt breaking his marriage vows (not being gay) was his reason for resignation ... that he was being dishonest & lying to the public (or something to that effect, don't quote me!)

When I say putting his wife and kid life in danger I meant , he knew that he was gay. But lived a double life engaging in extramarital sex with partners that could possibly have an illness or disease that trusting wife at home could have caught and passed on unknowingly to thier child. This happens so often..Cheating comes with bigger risks than alot of people realize.

I saw this documentary on HBO about ladies who's partners cheated..some with men..some with women and i felt so sad for them, but the saddest was the woman who found out she was pregnant and went to do a blood test. She was HIV positive. She had never cheated on her husband but he was bisexual and never told her so she could make an informed decision. So she lived long enough to bury their child and to hear his confession.

that i could understand....but as it is now...they're making it sound like he's resigning because he's gay.....and that really bugs me!

why would his being gay or having an affair reflect badly on his politics?

sexual harassment, that's another story!
