Directions to church and invitations questions...
Did anyone find that their church provided direction cards? Or did you have to make them yourself?
Who did you stuff envelopes with? I was thinking of having a mini-get-together with my BM's, but my FH just wants us to do it and get it over with...I also think my mom wants to be involved...Any ideas?

Re: Directions to church and invitations questions...
Our church didn't provide directions to the church but we have them on our website, so I put a little card that had our website in the invites.
I would have liked to do a get together for the invite stuffing, but it ended up just being me FH and his sister doing them, we got them done pretty quick. So maybe you could just have your mom and maybe MOH or something come over this weekend and get it done? Good Luck

Re: Directions to church and invitations questions...
I didn't ask, but I'm prety sure my church doesn't. We ahd maps mad eup from Snappymap.com that had directions for everything on it. You could jsut type up written directions & print them out on cards. You can get perfeated sheets of cardstock in an office supply or paper store.
I think I am stuffing my invites alone.
Fh's aunt seemed dissapointed that we just dropped of enevelopes with her, for calligrapghy, not all teh peices. I thinkshe wnated us all to stuff them together on Sunday, but the maps weren't ready yet anyway.
I already numbered the response cards & stamped teh response envelopes & outer envelopes, by myself on Wednesday. FH was there, but he was washing the dishes.
We only have 55 invites. I will probably finish them by myself because I get home early on Fridays & I want to get them to the PO befor eit closes & if I wait for Fh to get home it will be too late.
I stuff enveloeps at work a lot, so 55 is easy for me.
ETA: Fh's aunt mentioned an envelope stuffing party, but I think the more people you have the easier it is to loose track of things & leave inserts out etc. I'd rather do it myself, or just with FH to keep things organized.

Re: Directions to church and invitations questions...
a tip I learned here. . .
We have a spreadsheet with guest names. the first column is a number. We used that number & wrote it lightly in pencil on the back of the response card in case someone sends it back & we can't read the handwriting or they don't put their name.
They are in the same order as the outer envelops, but I have to double check & make sure the right person gets the right # ( why I want to do it alone).

Re: Directions to church and invitations questions...
My church has a website that has directions, so I used those and put them on a card with a map.
I also numbered my responses. You put a number on the back of each response card in case you can't read the handwriting, or someone forgets to write their name when they respond. Then you just check your list with the number, and you know whose it is.
I stuffed them mostly by myself, with a little help from my mom. I really wanted to see every complete invitation because I was paranoid about messing them up.

That is such a great idea!! I am horrible at reading people's handwriting!

Re: Directions to church and invitations questions...
My church gave us ONE direction card and I had to photocopy it (it was on regular paper)
I haven't stuffed the envelopes yet, I plan on doing that with FH and my mother but I'm still not sure about it.
PS I did the pencil thing as well!

That's a great idea - I didn't even think of that!!
Right now my mom and FMIL are playing a little tug of war because they both want to help me with the stuffing. My mom, MOH and BM are all 4 hours away and I won't be seeing them again for a few weeks. My FMIL lives an hour away and keeps volunteering, but my mom really wants to help. Argh. I think FH and I might just do them ourselves.

Re: Directions to church and invitations questions...
my fi is making direction cards to the church, from the hotel to the church, and then from the church to the hall.
we are also including our website on the direction card if anyone wants to check it out. there are links to maps and directions there as well.
my family and my fi are probably stuffing the envelopes sometime next week.

This is what I did as well. We are sending out 114 invites and you know someone will forget to put their name. Also my church didn't have directions, so my dad did it for me on word. I can email them to you. Let me know.
