Did you really fall in love with your dress as soon as you put it on?

I'm getting discouraged! I've been dress shopping 3 times and I haven't fallen in love with any dress immediately. I think it might be because none of the dresses fit me right (everything is clipped and tied)so it's hard to imagine.

Did you really fall in love with the dress immediately?

There is one dress that I've loved after walking around in it for awhile, but it was $$$ so I'm still looking. Should I be looking for 'love at first sight'?

Yes, I fell in love with my dress the second I put it on. I HATED it on the hanger though. All the styles I thought I liked, I hated on me. I guess my point is try on all different types of dresses, don't just stick to what u thought you wanted.

Re: Did you really fall in love with your dress as soon as you put it on?

I think honestly EVERYONE is different. I was expecting to cry the first time I saw myself in 'the dress' but all the ladies at the salons I visited told me MAYBE like 2% of girls that come in there actually cry when they find 'the one'. I honestly knew as soon as I put it on. I didnt want to look any further. I went to 3 different places and tried on less then 10 dresses total.

Re: Did you really fall in love with your dress as soon as you put it on?

I have heard that so many times with friends before (about hating it on the hanger and then loving it on!). I haven't gone to try on any gowns yet, but I imagine it must be hard to picture it with all the clips, etc. That is my fear. I am so tiny I can't even imagine putting on a dress that is twelve sizes too big....we'll see!

Re: Did you really fall in love with your dress as soon as you put it on?

I knew when I put my dress on that it was 'the ONE'. I didn't cry but my sister did and everyone in the bridal salon kept going up to my mom saying 'make sure she buys that one!'.

Re: Did you really fall in love with your dress as soon as you put it on?

I personally started crying when I saw it on the hanger and once it was on then I was practically bawling, my mom too but we are emotional weirdos.
But I also think you will also get the feeling of the one even if you dont cry. Keep looking and have fun!

Same here. I cried when I tried my dress on, it was perfect. But on the hanger, I hated it and the lady made it like it.

It was also really expensive so I called every store I in the area until I found it for $500 less.

Re: Did you really fall in love with your dress as soon as you put it on?

I have to tell you that I did not do the whole love at first site cry thing and it took me a long time to find!

I did get the best dress that had a little of everything I wanted. I was on a pretty serious budget and time constraint so I did not want to try on something that was way out of my league and fall in love with. I tried to be realistic......and in the end I was 'in love' with the fact that it made me feel good, had a little bit of everything I wanted.....and was in my budget!!!

Keep looking.....you will find something!!!

Re: Did you really fall in love with your dress as soon as you put it on?

Who makes the dress you love? I bet that there is something out there that is really similar for a lot less money. If you post a pic of it I bet a lot of the ladies can point you towards less expenive similar styles.

I don't know about the love at first sight thing. When I found my dress, I found that it was 'me'. I've seen so many gorgeous dresses but the one I got is the only one I can see myself in. It was flattering, and simple but not too simple. Keep looking!

Honey...get it...don't worry about the

The money will come, I am walking around with 3 dress receipts. 1 was a rush choice, the 2nd was an error Allyssia's bridal made after selling it to me and then changing there mines. (eve of milady gown). 3rd now is still an eve gown, which I purchased in Long Island. During dress shopping for the first time, I said, the same thing you said, the dress I wanted was to expensive but, I knew deep down inside I wanted to get a eve of milady from the beggining. It caused, alot of aggrevation, but I got one now and I am extremely happy.

Re: Did you really fall in love with your dress as soon as you put it on?

Jam1223, I think you have your heart set on that dress already. IMO, u should get it. You can make up for the lost $ in other areas. You should definitely love the dress you plan to wear, and feel comfortable in it. Keep searching, if you like, but it's going to be hard finding something when you already have that dress in your mind. Nothing's going to live up to it.

PS: It IS beautiful!
