Bridal Shower Update:

I'm sure some of you will remember the ongoing drama of my son's July wedding (upstate NY)

To bring you all up to speed, my daughter and I were planning a bridal shower for my FDIL on Long Island, but due to her disrespect and tantruims, we cancelled it.

Then, her family planned one up here and my mother and my daughter did NOT get an invitation, and I decided not to go. They are his only grandmother and only sister.
A week after the invites were sent, they finally got an invite with a letter of apoligy. My daughter wasn't able to attend due to working but my parents drove up here and my mom and I went.

I have to admit, it was nice. A simple, upstate bridal shower. No flowers, no umbrella, no decorations, very simple finger foods however, the cake was amazing. Some one had baked and decorated it in her colors (champagne and latte). I wish I knew how to post the picture. It was truly beautiful!

With all the heartache that has been put on me (us) I was very honored and thrilled to bits that I was very included in the evening. FDIL had me sitting with her and her mom in front of everyone opening presents, I was asked to be the lead to start eating, and included in pictures. Needless to say, I showed tears, just a bit but when I got home, the tears really flowed. I was soooo happy.

There are only 27 days left and I'm starting to feel the pressures of it now. I want everything to be Long Island perfect.

My daughter and I came up with a fantastic idea of a special wedding gift for them. They are honeymooning in Italy for 14 days so we wanted to pay a portion of their honeymoon but they already paid for it in full. So now I'm setting out to find a limo to drive them to and from JFK.

Now I'm in full swing in preparing for the wedding weekend and RD.

That sounds great! Glad all has turned around for you.

Another neat idea would be to have something (basket, chocolates, or champagne) in their room in Italy waiting for them when they arrive. I plan on doing this for my FSIL on her honeymoon.

I am so happy for you that they are finally including you It can be very stressful being the bride, maybe she didn't mean the way she acted before. It looks like sh is trying to make it up to you - that's great!
