silly placecard/seating chart question
what level of formality do you use for the place cards or seating charts:like the outer envelope for the invitation?
Mrs & Mrs. John Jones?
Like the inner envelope if you did them casually:
John & Mary
Uncle John & Aunt Mary
(this seems wrong)
The more formal way for inner envelopes:
Mr. & Mrs. Jones
Somewhere in the middle:
John & Mary Jones
or
Mary & John Jones??
Is there a rule?

Re: silly placecard/seating chart question
I don't know if there is any rule per say but making look formal is more classy.I put: Mr. & Mrs. John Jones. It looks better that way...JMO

Re: silly placecard/seating chart question
hmm, ok, that is propably the proper way to do it. I think I have always been Ms. HeatherB------.
Its just seems so formal for say, my parents.
And what about little kids.
they are only on the inner envelope by their first names, but they get their own palce cards.
I don't want to put Master Daniel Lastname though.
I think I'd do just Daniel Lastname
And what about kids that can't read? Do they still get their own, or so they go with the parents or siblings?

Re: silly placecard/seating chart question
It depends on their ages...If they are under 18 in my opinion, then they should go under the parents name.If say Mr. & Mrs. John Smith have a 7 seven year son and a 5 year old daughter then you can put Mr. & Mrs. John Smith & Family.
That is what I did.

Re: silly placecard/seating chart question
Mine are going to sayMr & Mrs John Smith
For those with childern under the age of 18, their name will be on their parents seating card. So it will read
Mr & Mrs John Smith
and
Alicia

oh. I thought they got their own.
My 12 year old cousin probably won't be sittign with his parents. he'll probably be with
the other older cousins. ( he thinks he is an adult most of the time! lol!)

Re: silly placecard/seating chart question
In that case, then I would give him his own seating card.

But then would he be Mr. Daniel, Daniel, or Master Daniel?
