Re: How can I get rid of a pimple at home?

Do you have any soap thatr contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid? If you do, clean your face with that. Do you have any creams at home with Vitamin A (retinol, retinoic acid, retinyl palmitate on the label). That will help also. Avoid putting on creams with a lot of oil content.
Toothpaste will dry out the pimple. You can use eyedrops like visine to take away redness.
I know lot of home remedies but I doubt you would have any of the materials at your house.

Re: How can I get rid of a pimple at home?

go and buy 'Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion'

My mom bought it for me at Nordstroms, I heard a lot of celebrities use it and I think it works relatively well at minimizing pimples overnight. It might be a little on the expensive side, but the little bottle goes a long way...good luck

ETS: oops, I didn't realize you wanted an at home remedy...sorry about that!

Try taking an anti-infammatory (Ibuprofen, etc.) along with Cortizone Cream (1%) on the pimple.

Toothpaste works - the gel kind - it dries it out.

Re: How can I get rid of a pimple at home?

No, I did the toothpaste thing one time, and it made me worse. I heard the gel is the one you're not supposed to use.

Just go to the derm and have him extract or inject it with cortizone. Usually works for me when I get a bad one.

Re: How can I get rid of a pimple at home?

I find washing with sallycili acid, then putting an ice cube on it untill its cold, then benzoil peroxide ( preferably after keepng the bottle in the fridge) then a cold compress for 15 minutes before be helps.
That's adapted from 'the Acne Cure' book.
