Outside ceremony in August - anyone know where I can order different colored Chinese umbrellas for guests to use to block out the sun?

Is anyone getting those pretty colored chinese fans for their guests to have shelter from the sun? We're having our ceremony outside in August and I think the photos will be beautiful if people are holding these different colored fans - if it's sunny that is.

I LOVE the idea! I actually saw a pic in a magazine where the BM's were all carrying parasols covered in real flowers, I thought it looked so beautiful...but I'm having a fall wedding, indoors so it really doesn't work for me----have you tried looking online? look under parasols, I'm pretty sure that you can get them relatively cheap. Or maybe taking a trip into China Town?

I think that's a wonderful idea since you know it will be sunny during the June/July/August weddings! I was even thinking that since I don't have favors yet, maybe these could be my favors!! If anyone knows of any other places to get these, please let me know! Thanks!

Look around on the Oriental Trading website. They have all different kinds.

If you google Asian Umbrellas or Parasols You'll see more online.

But I agree. Good Old Chinatown always is the easiest.

From a quick look it seems most of Asian inspired umbrellas I found were either Chinese or Thai. But not using 'Chinese' will show you a LOT more (i've learned this as my wedding is 'asian inspired')

Don't forget to check EBay as well. If you find a group you like you can always email the seller direct to see if they can give you a bulk amount. It's how I got my Chinese Lanterns they were selling them in pairs.. it just saved me time, effort and money to order the 14 directly from them.
