Inviting Co-Workers
My department is very small, 10 including myself. I like them all, but am only close to one woman, and want to invite her husband and kids. (there will be plenty of children at the reception). She mentioned that not inviting the spouses and kids of the rest may cause friction.Any suggestions?

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
I am not following completely - you want to invite this one woman and her family and then the rest of the co-workers by themselves? If they are married you pretty much have to invite their spouses. And if you invite the kids of one I think they should all be invited.
Of course you don't have to invite the other co-workers if you don't want.

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
I work in a very small department of 15- 20 people. I am closer with 2-3 people there. I am not inviting anyone to the wedding because I know that somehow if I invited only a select few , the others would eventually find out and get offended. I will invite the whole department to the ceremony. My FI on the other hand, is inviting all of his co-workers to the wedding(there's only 5 of them and they often hang-out after work). It's a tough call about choosing to invite only a few vs all. I'm opting for the easy way out (IMO). Good Luck

I was planning on inviting the woman, her husband and kids. For the rest of the co-workers, just them and their spouses.Thank you for your help, I wasnt quite sure what was the proper thing to do.

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
I decided to invite my department and their spouses only (just the east coast people of course). Thats 5 people = 10 and I am sure that all of them wont be able to come. I may also invite the guy I sit next to as well. Hes not in my dept, but its hard because I talk to him all day.Welcome New Vendors
