Who goes in the limo?
Is this a dumb question?Do parents come in the limo with you?
How does everyone get home if they do?

Re: Who goes in the limo?
ug, FH and i can't figure this out...i don't want one big limo and was thinking of getting a bunch of town cars instead. when i did a quick price check this scenario started to add up quick...
as of now we want to definitely take care of ourselves and our parents. i don't really want to be in the same car with the folks, so i am thinking both sets will share a car and we will have our own...
i don't want to leave the BP high and dry, but as of now we have not figured out an economical solution. i repeatedly hear horror stories about limos and refuse to pay a few thousand bucks for a few hours...

Re: Who goes in the limo?
For most of the wedidngs I've seen, just the BP goes in the limo. We also had our grandma just for space's sake. Kepe in mind, the more people in the limo, the more people you have to worry about getting home. I had to ride home form my sister's wedding in a car with 6 people, a centerpiece, her cake topper, gifts, leftover favors the whole nine. it was hell.

Re: Who goes in the limo?
Yeah, that's my concern... I want our parents to come with us, but then, how are they going to get home at the end of the night? They'll have to squoosh in other people's cars, I guess... that'll be weird!Maybe we'll just have one of each of our parents, so the other one can drive?
But then that parent will be alone!
UGH. This wedding planning stuff is hard!

Re: Who goes in the limo?
It's all true!Well, it only leaves the BP w/o rides, and often the BP will have a date going to the wedidng who can bring him/her home.

Re: Who goes in the limo?
Hey Janine!Okay, so how are they getting back from the reception? Is the limo driving them home, too?
(This is my dilemma.)

Re: Who goes in the limo?
my parents are dropping off a car at the reception place in the morning so they will have a car there... FH & I have a car picking us up... the rest of the bridal party will be staying at a hotel that is about 10 minutes away... they will either catch rides w/ my parents, FH parent's or anyone else heading to the hotel... we have a lot of OOT guets so we figure there will be a lot of cars going to the hotel so we figured our bridal party could catch some rides... as you can see though we haven't totally figure it out yet...

Re: Who goes in the limo?
yeah I tried to get my parents to stay at the hotel as well but they will just meet us all there the following morning for breakfast... that's how we thought of them dropping off the car in the morning.... we will send my dad and brothers out to do that while my mom and I and the girls get ready...

good idea if they don't plan on drinking...
my dilemma is getting people SAFELY back to the hotel after the reception and a few cocktails... as of now i think that the wives of the GM's will be the designated drivers back to the hotel where we continue the party. my girls will be driven by their husbands or others who are heading back to the hotel and are good to drive...
i haven't thought everything through either, just thinking out loud at this point...

Re: Who goes in the limo?
well my parents dont drink much and my FFIL doesn't drink at all... so they are safe to drive people back...but drinking and driving is a huge concern after a wedding... people just need to know who will be a designated driver and who can drink...

Re: Who goes in the limo?
going to the churchgirls car...moms, BM's
boys...FFIL, GM, mom's boyfriend
rolls...me and dad
pretty much the same for the reception except my mom and boyfriend will be in the girls car and dad will be in the boys car.
We also got a 10 seater limo for: parents and 3 people from the BP.
I expect most people from the BP to get their own way home.

Re: Who goes in the limo?
here we go this is what we came up with - the bp are all leaving their cars at grandmothers house - she has parking for like 9 cars - then all the bp is staying at a hotel the night before the wedding so we can all be in the same place for hair etc- the limo ( we got 2 ) will first pick up parents at gma's house then the bridal party at the hotel i will go seperate in the second car - after the wedding the bp and parents will all go back to grandmother's house in the big limop and fh and i will return to the b&b in the second car - this way everyone is taken care ofit was the most economical way we could figure otherwise it would have been too many pick ups and cars involved
